SUMMARY STATEMENT:
We recently advertised for two full term positions and one partial term (Dalton Crane resigned) on the Parks
& Recreation Advisory Committee in both the Star News and on the City Website for two full weeks. We
received response from three individuals interested, Dave Petty, Steve Johnson and Paul Christensen. Dave
Petty was appointed just over a year ago to a single year term to fill a vacancy and stagger term dates. The
advisory committee recommended Dave Petty be re-appointed to a complete term length and the other
applicants be considered for the following appointments as described in the recommended action below.
It is staffs’ recommendation to consider Dave Petty, Steve Johnson and Paul Christenen’s letters of interest
along with the advisory committee’s recommendation for terms of appointment to the Parks and Recreation
Adivsory Committee.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Move to reappoint Dave Petty to a full 3-year term expiring January 2024; appoint Steve Johnson for a 3-
year term expiring January 2024; and appoint Paul Christensen to a partial term, expiring March 1, 2022 to
the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
