The term of this contract shall be for a period of five year
from the date it becomes in force and effect." j
SECTION 2. The chief of the fire department of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, is hereby appointed as a member of the joint fire department
committee and is authorized and directed to carry out the terns of
the foregoing contract and is further authorized to send such fire
fighting equipment and personnel owned and operated by the City of
Jefferson City to the assistance of the Cities of Columbia, Fulton,, i
Mexico, Moberly, and Boonville, Missouri, in case of a major con-
flagration or disaster, in the event of a call for assistance from
any of said cities, whenever in his judgement same can be safely
spared from the City of Jefferson at the time and under the circum-
stances.
SECTION 3. This ordinance and contract shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval, and as soon as a
similar ordinance emboyding the agreements set forth herein has
been passed and approved by each of the Cities of Columbia, Fulton,
Mexico, Moberly and Boonville, Missouri. �I
SECTION 4. Upon passage of this ordinance the Clerk of the City ofl
Jefferson City, Missouri, shall certify copies of same and shall
mail a copy to the city clerks of each of the Cities of Columbia,
Fulton, Mexico, Moberly and Boonville Missouri.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND DIRECTING THE SUBMISSION TO THE
QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, COLE, COUNTY, MISSOURI
AT AN ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 1ST DAY OF
APRIL, 1958, OF A PROPOSITION FOR THE ACCEPTING OF THE PROVISIONS
OF THE LAND. CLEARANCE FOR REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY LAW OF THE STATE
OF MISSOURI.
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Jefferson,
Cole County, Missouri, there are one or more blighted or insanitary )
areas existing in the community and redevelopment of such area or
areas is necessary in the interest of the public health and safety Ii
of the residents of this community;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, COLE COUNTY, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That an election shall be and the same is hereby called.
and ordered to be held in the City of Jefferson, Cole County,
Missouri, on Tuesday, the 1st day of April, 1958 , for the purpose o i
submitting to the qualified electors of said City the following
proposition:

Proposition to accept the provisions
of the' Land Clearance for Redevelop-

ment Authority Law of the State of
Missouri as Contained in Section 99 .300
to 99 .660 of the Revised Statutes of
Missouri for 1949 .
SECTION 2. That said election shall be held in all of the wards of
said City and at the polling places hereinafter designated in the
form of "NOTICE OF ELECTION", as set forth in Section 3 hereof.
The polls of said election shall be opened at the hour of
6 o'clock A.M. and shall continue open until the hour of 7 o'clock
P.M. on said day.
The said election shall be conducted and held and the results
thereof shall be certified, canvassed and declared in all respects
in conformity with the constitution and laws of the State of
Missouri governing elections in the City of Jefferson and in
accordance with the ordinances of said City.
SECTION 3. That the City Cleric be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to give notice of said election by publication in
The Post Tribune, a newspaper printed and published in the City of
Jefferson and of general circulation therein. The said notice shal
be published in said newspaper once a week for four consecutive
weeks and on the same day in each week. The first publication of
said notice shall be made at least twenty-one (21) days before the
date of said election and the last publication shall be made within
two (2) weeks of the date of said election. The said notice, to
be so published, shall be in substantially the following form, to-w t:

the City of Jefferson, Cole County, Missouri, on
TUESDAY, THE 1st DAY OF APRIL, 1958,
at which shall be submitted to the qualified electors

directed to furnish the judges and clerks of said election with
poll books, tally sheets, ballots, ballot boxes, and other supplies
necessary for the conduct of said election, and the ballots to be s
