ORDINANCE NO. 6608
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ALL OPERATORS OF MOTOR VEHICLES FROM
'PERMITTING THE SAME TO BE PARKED ON CLIFF DRIVE BETWEEN ITS INTER_
SECTION WITH BOLIVER STREET AND ITS INTERSECTION WITH CLAY STREET,
DEFINING THE TERM "MOTOR VEHICLES" AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE
VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSO I,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any motor vehi le
to permit the same to be parked on Cliff Drive between its inter-
sections with Boliver Street and Clay Street- .
Section 2. The term "Motor Vehicles" shall mean and include any
kind of truck, tractor, trailer, tank trailer, combination tractor-
trailer unit, bus or school bus .
Section 3. Anyone violating any of the terms of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.

ORDINANCE NO. 6609
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCES 6497 and 6573 PERTAINING TO THE {
SALARIES AND COMPENSATION OF ALL ELECTIVE OFFICIALS, APPOINTIVE
OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AND
ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT. 1
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinances numbered 6497 and 6573 of the City of `
Jefferson, Missouri, pertaining to the salaries and compensation
of all elective officials, appointive officials and employees of
the City of Jefferson, Missouri, be and the same are hereby repealecl .
Section 2. Compensation of elective officials . Hereafter the
following elective officials of the City of Jefferson City, Missouri ,
shall receive the following compensation for the performance of
their duties, and as specifically mentioned herein, the following
amounts as expense accounts to cover expenses incurred by them in
the performance of their official duties :
(a) The Mayor shall receive the sum of Two Hundred ($200.00)
Dollars per month as his salary. In addition to the salary stated,
the Mayor shall receive the sum of Seventy Five ($75.00) Dollars
per month as an expense account for his office.
(b) The City Marshall shall receive the sum of Three Hundred +�
and Seventy Five ($375.00) Dollars per month as salary. In
addition to the salary stated, the City Marshall shall receive the
sum of Seventy ($70 .00) Dollars per month as an expense account.

(c) The City Attorney shall receive the sum of Three Hundred
and Twenty Five ($325.00) Dollars per month as his salary. In addition
to the salary stated, the City Attorney shall receive the sum of
Fifty ($50 .00) Rollars per month as an expense account to defray
expenses for secretarial service connected with his office.
(d) The Police Judge shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and
Eighty ($250.00) Dollars per month as his salary. In addition
to� the salary state, the Police Judge shall receive the sum of
Twenty ($20 .00) Dollars per month as an expense account.
(e) The City Treasurer shall receive the sum of One Hundred
($100 .00) Dollars per month as his salary.
(f) The City Assessor shall receive the sum in fees equal to
two-thirds (2/3) of those paid to the county assessor for merchants
and manufacturers' lists returned and for making assessments and
returns of lists on personal property.
(g) The City Collector shall receive as compensation on the
annual tax collected the following:
On the first Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars collected,
four (4%) per cent.
On the second Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars collected,
three (3%) per cent.
On all sums collected over and above the sum of Eighty
Thousand ($$0,000 .00) Dollars, including delinquent taxes,
he shall receive two (20) per cent.
In addition to the above he shall receive on all delinquent
taxes the sum of four (4%) per cent, which shall be added to
the amount owed by the delinquent taxpayer and shall be paid
by the person paying the taxes.
(h) Members of the City Council shall receive the sum of
Seventy Five ($75.00) Dollars per month as salary. In addition to
the salary stated, members of the City Council. shall receive the
sum of Fifty ($50 .00) Dollars per month as an expense account.
Section 3. Compensation of appointive officials and employees
Hereafter the total compensation to be paid to the appointive
ovvicials and employees of the City of Jefferson City, Missouri,
for the performance of their duties as prescribed by law shall be
paid as follows:
(a) The City Clerk shall receive the sum of Four Hundred
($400.00) Dollars per month.
(b) The assistant city clerk shall receive the sum of
Three Hundred and Ten ($310.00) Dollars per month.
(c) The City Engineer shall receive the sum of Four Hundred aid
Ten ($410.00) Dollars per month.
(d) The Street Commissioner shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred and Seventy Five ($375.00) Dollars per month and the use
pf a city owned automobile in the performance of his duties.
(e) The City Physijlaa,.,shall receive the sum of Two Hundred
and Fifty ($250.00) Dollars per month.
(f) The Chief Inspector of the City of Jefferson, and the
ex-officio Building Commissioner and Custodian of the City Hall,
shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and Fifty ($350.00) Dollars
per month.
(g) The Electrical Inspector shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred ($300.00) Dollars per month.
(h) The Plumbing Inspector shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred Dollars ($300 .00) per month.
(i) The License Inspector shall receive the sum of Sixty Five
($65 .00) Dollars per month.
(j ) The Milk Inspector shall receive the sum of Three Hundred
and Fifty ($350 .00) Dollars per month.
(k) The Health Officer shall receive the sum of Two Hundred
and Seventy Five ($275.00) Dollars per month.
(1) The Airport Maintenance Man shall receive the sum of One
Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month.
(m) The Janitor of the City Hall shall receive the sum of
Two Hundred and Thirty Five ($235 .00) Dollars per month.
(n) The Humane Officer -shall receive the sum of Two Hundred aid
Seventy Five ($275.00) Dollars per month and the use of a city
owned motor vehicle in the performance of his duties.
(o) The City Weighmaster shall receive the sum of One Hundred
and Sixty ($160 .00) Dollars per month.
(p) The Caretaker of the City Dump shall receive the sum of
Fifty ($50 .00) Dollars per month.
(q) The General Custodian of the City Cemetery shall receive
the sum of Twenty Five ($25.00) Dollars per month.
(r) The Welfare Worker shall receive the sum of Fifty ($50.00
Dollars per month.
(s) The City Stenographer shall receive the sum of Two Hundre
and Fifty ($250 .00) Dollars per month.
(t) The Clerk of the Police Court shall receive the sum of
One Hundred and Eighty ($180.00) Dollars per month. .
(u) The Fire Chief. shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and
Seventy ($370 .00) Dollars per month.
(v) The assistant Fire Chiefs shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred and Thirty Five ($335.00) Dollars per month.
(w) The Fire Inspector shall receive the sum of Twenty Five,
($25.00) dollars per month.
(x) The Fire Captains shall receive the sum of Three Hundred
and Twenty ($320 .00) Dollars per month.
(y) The regular firemen shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred ($300.00) Dollars per month after they have been employed
for a period of three months, and for the first three months'
service they shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and Eighty Five
($285.00) Dollars per month.
(z) The Police Captains in the' Police Department shall receiv
the sum of Three Hundred and Thirty Five ($335.00) Dollars per
month. '
(aa) The Police Sergeants, including the desk sergeant and
the traffic sergeant, shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and
Twenty ($320.00) Dollars per month.
