BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSO it,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby finds and declares that it
deems it necessary to repair and resurface, at a cost not exceedigg
sixty cents (60) per front foot, the alley in the block between Eas
Capitol Avenue, Water Street, Monroe Street and Adams Street, all o
said improvements to be within the limits of sprinkling, oiling,
repairing surfacing and resurfacing District No. Two of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, all of said work to be done according to the
plans and specifications filed with the City Clerk.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that it is
advisable and for the best interest of the owners of property to be
charged with the cost of said work, that the said work shall be don
by the City, without letting a contract therefor, and that the City
Street Commissioner is hereby directed to purchase the necessary
materials and employ the necessary labor for the performance of said
work, and shall superintend the same and keep an accurate account
of the cost thereof, and do said work under the supervision of the
City Engineer.
SECTION 3. That the cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfac ng
shall be defrayed by a special tax, to be assessed in favor of the
City, on the adjoining property fronting or bordering on the alley
where such work is done, in proportion that the linear feet of each
lot fronting or bordering thereon bears to the total number of
linear feet of all the property chargeable with the tax aforesaid,
in the territory embraced within this ordinance. Special Tax Bills
shall be issued, evidencing such assessment, and shall become
liens on said property, and shall be issued and enforced as
provided by law.
SECTION 4. The cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfacing
shall not exceed the sum of sixty cents (60p) per front foot, per
annum, upon property abutting upon the streets aforesaid.
SECTION 5. All Ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict wit
this Ordinance, are insofar as they conflict with this Ordinance,
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 0. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its
passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE MONEY FOR THE MONTH OF MAY, 1958
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of any money in the
City Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the following:
