SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Parks department received a Land and Water Conservation Fun Grant for $136,004 with matching funds from the city’ Local Option Tax of $61,492 and Capital CIP funds for a total of
$332,496 to complete the playground replacement project at Brown Park. The project budget was developed to purchase and install the play structure and make necessary ADA access improvements
to the facility and play structure. The balance of these funds after playground purchase will be applied to the construction costs associated with site access improvements. That work
will be included in the fomal bidding process in April of 2021 for the Brown Park and E. Lake Street Shoreline improvement project being funded through the McCall Redevelopment Agency
(MRA).
The purchase agreement with Miracle Recreation (Garrett & Company) through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program will include the purchase and installation of both the play equipment
and playground surfacing material. Garrett & Company is the verified representing agency for Miracle in this region. The Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program is a valid competitively
solicited cooperative purchasing process used by many other municipalities in Idaho for playground and park construction procurement.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Brown Park playground purchase agreement with Miracle Recreation through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program and approve the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
