To maintain the aircraft flow on the northeast ramp, Staff has undertaken to create a project to construct a new replacement taxiway. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) may not have sufficient discretionary funding for construction in FY2021 – but upon grant acceptance, the FAA is legally required to provide the construction funds within 2 years. At the latest, Staff expects the project to be funded and completed by October 15, 2022. The FAA has requested the City to apply for the entire project cost in this application. This grant application will provide $1,499,913.00 of Federal Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding, $83,329.00 from the Airport Fund, and $83,329.00 from the State– for a total of $1,666,571.00.
