Section 2. Nothing in this ordinance shall be deemed to repeal the
provisions of Sections 836840 Revised Ordinances of the City of
Jefferson, 1456, which shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. ,Anydne violating arty of the terms of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.

ORDINANCE NO. 6667
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT ALL CONTRACTS ENTERED BY THE CITY FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC WORKS SHALL CONTAIN A PROVISION RELATING
TO THE NUMBER OF WORKING DAYS WITHIN WHICH SAID CONTRACT SHALL BE
COMPLETED AFTER THE AWARD OF THE BID AND THE EXECUTION OF SAID
CON'T'RACT, AND PROVIDING FURTHER THAT A PENALTY IN THE AMOUNT OF
TEN ($10.00) DOLLARS PER DAY SHALL BE PAID BY THE CONTRACTOR TO THE
CITY FOR EACH AND EVERY WORKING DAY REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE CONTRAC
AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE CALLED FOR BY
SAID CONTRACT, AND PROVIDING FURTHER THAT NO TAX BILLS SHALL BE
ISSUED BY THE CITY IN FAVOR OF SAID CONTRACTOR AND THAT NO MONEY
SHALL BE PAID UPON COMPLETION OF THE CONTRACT UNTIL THE TOTAL AMOUN
OF SAID PENALTY HAS BEEN PAID BY THE CONTRACTOR TO THE CITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Hereafter all contracts for public works executed by
the City of Jefferson, Missouri, shall contain a clause stating
the number of working days within which said contract shall be
performed after the award of the contract and the execution thereof.
Section 2. The contract shall provide that a penalty in the amount
of $10.00 per day shall be paid by the contractor to the City for
each and every working day required to perform the contract in
excess of the number of working days stated in the contract.
Section 3. Upon completion of the work, if penalties have accrued
in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, no tax bills
shall be issued by the City in favor of the Contractor nor shall
any money be paid the Contractor until the aggregate amount of
all penalties incurred have been paid to the City.
Section 4. This ordinance shall not prohibit the City from extendt rg
the working days within which said contract shall be completed
upon request of the Contractor and upon good cause shown.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
