HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution No. 000-86 03-13-1986 RESOLUTION Whereas the Haltom Richland Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Birdville Independent School District, Richland Hills, Haltom City, North Richland Hills and Watauga commissioned an independent area image awareness study, and Whereas this independent study showed that the two major issues are street repair and traffic congestion, and Whereas the chamber is dedicated to make use of this information through incorporation into our program of work, and Whereas the Chamber Roads and Transportation Committee has examined the benefits of improvements of Handley Ederville Road and Midway Road in conjunction with a current project underway by the city of Fort Worth, and Whereas the Committee found the following benefits Creation of an important alternate route from Hwy. 121 to Loop 820. Relieve present and future congestion on Loop 820. Relieve already existing bottleneck on access from Handley Ederville Rd. at Randol Mill Rd. through Hwy. 183. Fill existing void of adequate south route in the area from Loop 820 to each Street. provide access to COG'S Regional Transportation proposed major Raiitran stop at Hwy. 121 and Handley Ederville Road. Provide access for an estimated future workforce in excess of 40,000, and Whereas the Board of Directors has examined these and Therefore Be It Resolved that: The Board of Directors strongly supports both the need and the concept, The Board of Directors stresses the concern that the city exhaust all possible avenues of finance to reduce financial impact to both residents and businesses in reaching an avenue that will be acceptable.
