HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD06681 WHEREAS: It has been shown to the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the owners of that portion of Allen Avenue in Sunset Place Addition, hereafter described in Section 1 of this Ordinance, have used, improved and occupied and are now usi g and occupying said abutting land so that portion of Allen Avenue has ceased to be of any use or benefit as a public thoroughfare and that it would not inconvenience the public or the citizens of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, to discontinue and vacate said portion of said street as a public thoroughfare, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is hereby declared that the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri deems it necessary and expedient to vacate and discontinue that part of allen Avenue, more particularly described as: Beginning at a point 722 feet north of the south lin of Sunset Place Addition, and 3 feet west of the west extended line of lot 62 Block 1 Sunset Place Addition, said point of beginning being 40 feet north of and perpendicular to the center line of a concrete pavement; thence north 76 degrees and 48 minutes West and parallel to the center line of said concrete pavement, 477 feet, more or less, to a point 15 feet easterly of the easterly curb of Hayselton Drive; thence northerly parallel with said curb line to the northerly line of Allen Avenue; thence easterly along and with the northerly line of Allen Avenue to the southeasterly cornea: of lot 10 Block 4 Sunset Place Addition; thence South 13 degrees and 12 minutes West, 42 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. All the owners of the property and adjacent lots abutting on and adjacent to said Allen Avenue having petitioned the said City Council to vacate and discontinue said portion of Allen Avenue as a part of the public thoroughfare of said City, and said drive is forever vacated and discontinued as a public thoroughfare and the right of reversion of said drive to the adjacent and abutting owners as is provided by the Statutes of the State of Misssouri, is hereby fully confirmed and approved, and the Mayor of this City is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver all proper and sufficient writing, or writings for, on behalf of, or in the name of the City to fully and completely establish and guarantee to the adjacent and abutting property owners their legal rights in connection with the above vacation. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Dogs; interference with school activities. Any dog, or group of dogs, while running at large within this city entering upon the grounds or within the buildings controlled and occupied by any public, parochial or other private shhool, the presence and conduct of which in any was interferes with the normal, usual and orderly activities of the teachers and students attending said school building and its premises, is hereby declared to be a nuisance.
