SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Representatives from the City’s Liability Insurance provider, ICRMP (a member owned and governed property and casualty insurance program), and The Hartwell Corporation (the City's Insurance
Agency) will present the City Council information regarding the deductible and premium costs. The city’s premium went up by the ICRMP-board mandated 3% this last year. That was the
minimum increase for every ICRMP member. The city would have gone up 5%; however, ICRMP increased the deductible to keep the premium increase at the minimum of 3%, keeping the premium
more stable and level, as well as bring the city up to where the rest of the comparable members are at. Most of the ICRMP members with premiums >$100,000 are in the $1,500-$2,500 deductible
range, with the target of $2,500 for the majority. The members that have premiums between $10,000 - $100,000 are at the $1,500 deductible range and the members with premiums of $10,000
or less are at $1,000 deductible.
