RESOLUTION PUTTING HOME-RULE CHARTER INTO EFFECT;
• AND PROVIDING THAT SAID RESOLUTION SHALL BE EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY UPON ITS ADOPTION
WHEREAS, at an election held within the City of Richland Hills,
Texas, on the 9th day of August, 1986, more than a majority of
the duly qualified resident electors of said City, voting at
said election, voted in favor of the approval and adoption of
a new Home-Rule Charter for said City; and
WHEREAS, on the 11th day of August, 1986, the City Council of
said City adopted a resolution canvassing the returns of said
election and declaring that said new Charter had been so approved
and adopted as the Home-Rule Charter of said City; and
WHEREAS, it is provided in said Charter that the City Council shall,
as soon as possible, put such Charter into effect by ordinance or
resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be for the best interest of said City and
its inhabitants that such Charter now be put into full effect; now
therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS:
Section J_. The the Home-Rule Charter of the City of Richland Hills,
Texas, adopted at the election held within said City of the 9th
day of August, 1986, shall upon the adoption of this resolution
and upon this date be put into full effect in its entirety; and
the whole of said Charter is now declared to be in full effect as
the Home-Rule Charter of said City.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be effective and in full force
immediately upon its adoption.
