STREET IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 6708
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADWAY OF
BINDER DRIVE IN THE BLOCK FROM THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION OF
BINDER DRIVE AND LIVINGSTON STREET TO THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTIO
OF BINDER DRIVE AND MARILYN STREET IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOU I.
BY PAVING WITH PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Whereas, it was heretofore found and declared by the Ci y
Council, by its resolution, passed and approved on February 2, 1959
necessary to pave with portland cement concrete the roadway of
Binder Drive in the block from the center of the intersection of
Binder Drive and Livingston Street to the center of the intersectio
of Binder Drive and' Marilyn Street and it appearing to the City
Council that said resolution has been duly published according to t e
law for more than seven (7) consecutive insertions, in the
Post-Tribune, a daily newspaper, printed and published in the City
of Jefferson, Missouri, and a majority of the resident owners of
property along said section of Binder Drive liable for the costs of
said improvement, and who own a majority of the front feet on said
Binder Drive intended to be improved, have not filed with the City
Clerk a protest against said contemplated improvement.
SECTION 2. That the said road of Binder Drive from Livingston Stre t
to Marilyn Street in accordance with the plans and specifications
submitted by the City Engineer and filed in the office of the City
Clerk, and that the total cost of the work aforesaid shall be
charged and levied as a special assessment against the real estate
abutting and fronting on said contemplated improvement, and special
tax bills shall be issued therefor, as provided in the City Charter
and in Sections 826, 827, 828, 829 and 767 of Chapter 10 of the
Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, and of
the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri, 1949, and amendments
ereto.
SECTION 3. The City Engineer is hereby instructed to advertise for
bids for this improvement.
