SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Staff is requesting that Council consider a revision to the Recreation Fee Schedule. Currently volunteer coaches receive 50% off their registration fee; however, Parks and Recreation
staff feel volunteers should receive a 100% fee waiver for their child’s participation in the program they are coaching. Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee unanimously agreed
to waive volunteer fees as a good gesture and could help ease recruiting efforts. Staff is also recommending that the refund policy addressing refund payments due to class cancellation
will be refunded.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve Resolution 21-24 adopting definition of terms used when setting recreation fees; ratifying the calculations to set fees charged for the services of the recreation department;
establishing a refund policy; establishing a scholarship and discount policy and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
