SUMMARY STATEMENT:
As part of the Taxiway Relocation Project, the “diagonal” taxiway was removed to increase the amount of leasable space in the infield area. To maintain the aircraft flow on the northeast
ramp, a new replacement taxiway has been planned.
The original grant application request was for funding the entire project. However, the FAA wants to split the project over 2 years – with design occurring in CY 2021, and construction
occurring in CY 2022.
The FAA has set aside $162,045 for the taxiway design portion of the project. The entire AIP grant is $1,666,571.00. The funding is a 100% grant.
Bids are expected to be advertised early in 2022, with construction starting on July 5, 2022. The estimated completion time is October of 2022.
