DISTRICT TO A DISTRICT "B" MULTIPLE DWELLING DISTRICT.
Whereas, the City Council received a written petition
requesting that the following specifically described tract of land
be rezoned from a District "A-2" Single Family District to a Distri t
"B" Two Family Dwelling District, and
Whereas, the City Council referred said petition to the
Planning and Zoning Commission as provided by law for its study,
consideration and recommendation, and
Whereas, the Planning and Zoning Commission, after a public
hearing, study and consideration, did recommend to the City Council
that the petition for rezoning be approved, and
Whereas, all interested parties have been notified that the
City Council would hold a public hearing at 8:00 p.m. on the evenin
of Tuesday, April 21, 1959 , at the Council Chamber in the City Hall
lBuilding at which they might be Present and be heard in support
of or in opposition to the proposed rezoning and any possible
'amendment, modification or amendment to the zoning map of the City
of Jefferson as previously amended, and
Whereas, said notice of hearing has been published in the
Jefferson City Post Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation wit in
the city, for three consecutive days, the date of last publication
being more than fifteen days previous to said meeting, and
Whereas, the City Council has conducted such hearing and
given all interested parties an opportunity to be heard, now
therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOUII,
S FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The zoning map, as incorporated into the terms of
ordinance number 5880 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby
amended, modified and changed, to reflect the rezoning of the
following described tract of land from its present District "A-2"
Single Family District to a District "B" Two Family Dwelling Distri t:
"Lots 1 through 8 inclusive of Block 1 and Lots 1
through 8 inclusive of Block 2 of Grandview Place
Subdivision of the City of Jefferson, as per plat
of record in plat book 5 at page 7, Cole County
Recorder' s office."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.

ORDINANCE NO. 6728
N ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 48839 BEING
SECTION 481 DF.. THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
1956, RELATING TO THE AMOUNT OF THE PENSIONS TO BE PAID TO WIDOWS
AND MINOR CHILDREN. OF DECEASED FIREMEN, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANC
PERTAINING TO THE SAME SIJBJECT.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 6705 the City Council. and Mayor of the I
City of Jefferson did submit- to the legal, voters of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, at the general municipal election held on
Tuesday, April 7, 1.959 , the following proposition:
Should the Pension payable to widows of Fire Department
Members in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, be increased
from the present sum of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars per month
with the addition of Ten ($10.00) Dollars per month for
each child under the age of eighteen years to the sum
of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars per month with the
addition of Ten ($10.00) Dollars per month for each
child under the age of eighteen years?
WHEREAS, THE LEGAL VOTERS OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
at said election did cast 4,247 votes in favor of and 1, 758 votes
in opposition to the above stated propoisition, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson, with the
consent of a majority of the legal voters of the City of
Jefferson casting votes on the above stated proposition may
amend Section 9 of Ordinance Number 4833 to reflect the sense
of the voters, and
WHEREAS under the terms of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 6705 , the
City Council of the City of Jefferson has elected to do so amend
Section 9 of Ordinance Number 4883 of the City so as to provide for
the increased pension benefits on a date not less than 30 nor more
than 45 days after said election, now therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 9 of ordinance number 4883 of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, relating to the pension benefits to be paid
to widows and minor children of deceased members of the fire depart-
ment be, and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 2. A new ordinance pertaining to the same subject to be
known as Section 9 of Ordinance No. 4883 and to be known as Section
481 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, 1956, be
and the same is hereby enacted in the following words and figures:
Section 481. Firemen deceased, payments to beneficiaries. --
If an active, disabled or retired member of the fire
department shall die, his widow shall be paid out of the
fund monthly, a pension of One Hundred Dollars per month
with the addition of Ten Dollars per month for each child
under the age of eighteen (18) years . If there be no
such widow, or the widow dies, the monthly payment
provided for such widow shall be divided equally among'.,
the children who are living and under the age of eighteen
years at the time of the division, and each child shall
receive its share of the division monthly until it
dies or obtains the age of eighteen (18) years . If a widcw
remarries, then her monthly payments shall stop immediate],
but the payments to said children under the age of
eighteen years shall continue until such time as
said children each of the age of eighteen (18) years.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after the 8th day of May, 1959 , which said date is not less
than thirty nor more than forty five days after the date of the
municipal election of April 7, 1959 .
