RESOLUTION # 15-86
WHEREAS, pursuant to Senate Bill No. 109, Chapter 190,
LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH REORGANIZATION ACT, 68th Legislature-Regular
Session, Article 4436b, V.A.T.C.S., a City Health Authority must
be appointed whenever a local health department has been created;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills desires to appoint a
City Health Authority to administer state and local laws relating
to public health;•and
WHEREAS,•the requirements for a City Health Authority
are that he or she be a competent physician who is legally quali-
fied to practice medicine under the laws of the state and who is
of reputable professional standing and a resident of the City
where he or she is appointed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT .RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Richland Hills, Texas, that J. Ardis Bell, M. D. be
and he is hereby appointed City Health Authority for the City of
• Richland Hills, Texas, subject to taking and subscribing the of-
ficial oath and filing it with the Texas Board of Health. Such
City Health Authority shall have such powers, duties and res-
ponsibilities as are defined and contained in Article 4436b,
V.A.T.C.S., and the Ordinances and Code of Ordinances of the City
of Richland Hills, Texas.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Richland Hills, Texas, this 10th day November 1986.
