SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The West Central Mountains Economic Development Council (WCMEDC) is a regional non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to serving Valley and North Adams Counties in Idaho. The organization
is guided by a board of up to 15 directors representing chambers of commerce, city governments, a Valley County Commissioner, and at-large community and business members.
McCall Councilmember Holmes was serving as the City of McCall’s representative on the WCMEDC board, but her recent resignation has created a vacancy. To fill this City of McCall representative
vacancy, the WCMEDC board has requested that Delta James, Economic Development Planner be appointed as the City’s representative on the board.
The City’s Economic Development Planner’s work closely aligns with WCMEDC efforts, and staff regularly attends the WCMEDC board meetings and can report salient information to City Council,
therefor the request for WCMEDC board service is supported by staff. The WCMEDC does not define a term of board service so staff recommends that Council make the appointment for a period
of three years so the appointment can be reconsidered at a definitive time.
Enclosed is a letter from WCMEDC President Dylan Martin requesting appointment of Economic Development Planner Delta James to the WCMEDC board and a summary of board member expectations.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Appoint Economic Development Planner Delta James as the City of McCall’s representative on the board of the West Central Mountains Economic Development Council for a period of three
years, expiring August 2024.
