The Assistant City Engineer shall have attained the age of twenty one years, be physically able and sound of body, and be a registered professional engineer meeting the requirements of Section 327 .032 R.S. Mo. Section 4. Duties. The Assistant City Engineer shall perform such duties as shall be specified by the City Engineer; provided th in the absence or inability of the City Engineer to perform his duties, the Assistant City Engineer shall perform such duties as may be delegated to the City Engineer by existing ordinances, the Mayor and the City Council. Section 5. Salary. Upon the appointment and confirmation of the Assistant City Engineer, his salary shall be established by ordinance. Section 6. Effective Date. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Assistant Street Commissioner. The office of Assistant Street Commissioner is hereby created. Section 2. ,Appointment. The office of Assistant Street Commissioner shall be filled by the Mayor at such time that the Mayor believes appropriate, subject however, to the approval of a majority of the members of the Council. Section 3. Qualifications. The Assistant Street Commissioner shall be a resident of this city, have attained the age of twenty one years, of average intelligence and physically able and sound of . body. Section 4. Duties. The Assistant Street Commissioner shall perform such duties as shall be specified by the Street Commissioner; provided that in the absence of th® Street Commissioner of the inability of the Street Commissioner to fulfill the duties of his .office, the Assistant Street Commissioner shall perform the duties delegated to the Street Commissioner by existing ordinances, the Mayor and the City Council. Section 5u Salary. Upon the appointment and confirmation of the Assistant Street Commissioner by the Mayor and the City Council, his salary shall be established by ordinance. Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
