Councilman Presents the following Ordinance Seconded by Councilman
ORDINANCE ACKNOWLEDGING THE BOROUGH OF CARTE' RE'T'S
ACCEPTANCE OF THE TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL LOCATED AT THE
INTERSECTION OF COUNTY ROUTE 602 (a /k/a/ ROOSEVELT AVENUE),
MINUE STREET, AND POST BOULEVARD AND AMENDING SECTION
254 -35 ENTITLED SCHEDULE XVII: TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS
OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret, a
municipal corporation of the State of New Jersey, located in Middlesex County, thereof,
as follows:
SECTION 1. The intersection of County Route 602 (a/k/a Roosevelt Avenue)
Minue Street. and Post Boulevard shall be controlled by a Traffic
Control Signal in accordance with the Traffic Signal Plan dated
March 15, 2013, last revised August 14, 2020, as built, and the
Traffic Signal Phasing, Timing & Volumes dated March 15,
2013, last revised August 14, 2020, as built.
SECTION 2. The Traffic Control Signal shall be in accordance with the
provisions of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices,
Title 39 of the Revised Statutes and the New Jersey
Administrative Code, and shall be operated in conformance
with the designated plan.
SECTION 3. Section 254 -35 Schedule XVIL• Traffic Control Signals is hereby
amended and supplemented follows to include the following
intersection:

County Route 602 (a /k/a Roosevelt Avenue),
Minue Street, and Post Boulevard
SECTION 4. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with the
provisions of this Ordinance shall be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 5. If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause or provision of this
Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid, such adjudication shall
apply only to the section, paragraph, subdivision, clause or
provision so adjudged and the remainder of the
ordinance shall be deemed valid and effective.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and
publication as provided by law.

SECTION 7. Upon final passage and adoption, the Borough Clerk shall forward
a certified copy of this Ordinance to Ronald Sendner, Middlesex
County Engineer, County Administration Bldg., 5" Floor, 75
Bayard Street, New Brunswick, New Jersey, 08901, for
submission to the Middlesex County Board of Chosen
Freeholders for a Consenting Resolution.
