RDINANCE NO. 6857
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
ISCONTINUING AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE THE PUBLIC ALLEY LYING
ETWEEN INLOTS 712 THROUGH 719 INCLUSIVE WITHIN THE CITY OF JEFFERSO ,
ISSOURI, BUT RESERVING TO SAID CITY AND ALL PUBLIC UTILITY COMPANIE
ITHIN SAID CITY AN EASEMENT TO MAINTAIN AND SERVICE ALL NECESSARY
EWERS, UTILITY MAINS AND LINES LOCATED ABOVE, UPON OR BELOW THE
URFACE OF SAID PUBLIC ALLEY, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE
ITY CLERK TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY INSTRUMENTS TO THE OWNERS OF
E ADJACENT PROPERTY TO CONFIRM THEIR RIGHT OF REVERSION, SUBJECT

E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOUR ,
S FOLLOWS:
ECTION 1. It is hereby declared that the City of Jefferson,
ssouri, deems it necessary and expedient to vacate and discontinue
he public alley more particularly described as follows:
The public alley within the City of Jefferson,
County of Cole, Missouri, which connects Monroe
Street with Madison Street and which lies
between Inlots Nos. 712 through 719 within the
City of Jefferson, Missouri.
ECTION 2. The owners of all property adjacent to and abutting on
aid public alley having petitioned the City Council to vacate and
iscontinue said public alley as a public thoroughfare, the above de cribed
ublic alley is forever vacated and discontinued as a public
horoughfare, subject of the provisions of Section 3 of this
rdinancp.
ECTION 3. The right of reversion to the right of way described
above into the abutting property owners, as is now provided by the
tatutes of Missouri, is hereby fully confirmed and approved,
ubject to the reservation by the City of Jefferson, Missouri, of an
asement in favor of said City and the Public Utility Companies with n
aid City to maintain and service all necessary sewers, utility
ins and lines located above, upon or below the surface of said pub is
lley, and the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Jefferson,
issouri, are hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on
ehalf of the City and in its name all proper and sufficient writing
o fully and completely confirm the right of reversion in the abutti g
roperty owners in connection with the above vacztion, subject to the
enervation of easement mentioned above.
