department of the city, two (2%) per cent of the
amount of the bid.
ISECTION 833. Amount to be paid when. -- The amount above specified
jshall be paid to the city clerk before the tax bills are issued or
any money paid by the city to the contractor for the work done.
No tax bills shall be delivered to the contractor or no money shall
be paid to the contractor until the entire amount due under such
contract for engineering services shall have been paid to the
city clerk."
SECTION 3. The City Engineer shall cause the enactment of this
ordinance to be brought to the attention of all contractors
submitting bids to the City in the future for public improvements.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.

ORDINANCE NO. 6879
ORDINANCE of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, vacating and
discontinuing as a part of the public thoroughfare, all that part
of Livingston Street, lying between the west line of Norris Drive
and the westerly line of Section 2, of Jordan Hills Subdivision.
d authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri to execute all necessary instruments to the owners of the
adjacent lots to and for said street so vacated, as the parties
entitled thereto, as shown by the record title to said adjacent
and abutting property and declaring a reverter to the respective
. owners of said real estate.
WHEREAS: It has been shown to the City Council of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri that the owners on Livingston Street, between
the west line of Norris Drive and the westerly line of Section 2
of Jordan Hills Subdivision, have used, improved, and occupied
and are now using and occuping said abutting and adjacent land
so that portion of said street has ceased to be of any use or benefit
s a public thoroughfare and that it would not inconvenience the
public or the citiz6ns of the City of Jefferson, Missouri to
discontinue and vacate as a public thoroughfare.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOM I,
S FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It has hereby declared that the City Council of the Cit
of Jefferson, Missouri, deems it necessary and expedient to vacate
and discontinue that part of Livingston Street, between the west
line of Norris Drive and the westerly line of Section 2 of Jordan
ails Subdivision. All the owners of the property and adjacent lot
(abutting on and adjacent to said street having petitioned the said
ity Council to vacate and discontinue as part of the public
horoughfare and the power and right of reversion of said street
