AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, TO EXECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY, A CONTRACT WITH CEORC'E W. LORD AND JANET R. LORD AND '
THOMPSON F. WILLIS AND ERMA E. WILLIS, FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN
REAL ESTATE BY THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI FOR THE SUM OF FIFTE N
THOUSAND ($15,000.00)DOLLARS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOUtIq
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of
the City to execute a contract with George W. Lord and Janet R.
Lord and Thompson F. Willis and Erma E. Willis, for the purchase of
certain specifically described real estate in Jefferson City, Misso ri
SECTION 2. Said contract shall read in words and figures as follow ;:
CONTRACT FOR THE SALE OF REAL ESTATE
THIS AGREEMENT made this day of March, 1960, between the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, a municipal corporation of the third
class, existing under the laws of the State of Missouri by and
through its Mayor, C. Forrest Whaley, Cole County, Missouri, party
of the first part, and George W. Lord and Janet R. Lord, his wife,
and Thompson F. Willis and Erma E. Willis, his wife, of Cole County
Missouri, parties of the second part.
WITNESSETH:
1. First Party agrees to buy and the Second Parties agree to
sell the following described tract of land located and situated
within the City of jefferson County of Cole, Missouri, and more
particularly described as follows:
Part of the northeast quarter of Section 12, Township 44, Rang
12, more particularly described as follows; 'Beginning at a
point on the southerly line of Dunklin Street where the Range
line between R. 11 W. and Range 12 W. intersects said southerly
line of Dunklin Street in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the ce
North along the Range line between Range 11 W. and Range 12 W. a
distance of 19 .8 feet; thence turning an angle of 50 degrees
15 minutes to the left for a distance of 42.0 feet to the
southerly right-of-way line of U. S. Highway No. 50; thence
in a westerly direction along and with said southerly line of
Highway No. 50 a distance of 34.3 feet; thence in a southeaste ly
direction along a curve to the right for a distance of 59. 16
feet more or less; said curve having a radius of 152.18 feet
and being tangent .to the southerly right-of-way line of
Dunklin Street extended at a point 18 .46 feet northwesterly
of the point of beginning; thence southeasterly along the
extension of the southerly right-of-way line of Dunklin Street
to the point of beginning.
2': The above described land is all of that portion of the lan
which lies within the black lines, which black lines in turn are
enclosed by the red lines as said tract of land appears on the
survey of David A. Brown, registered land surveyor, which is
attached hereto marked Exhibit "A ' and made a part of this contract
by reference.
3. First Party agrees to use the above described property as
a right-of-way for the extension and widening of Dunklin Street per
the plan attached hereto, marked Exhibit "B" and made a part of thi
contract by reference.

4. The premises shall be conveyed by second parties to the Firs
arty by a warranty deed, conveying marketable title of record in
ee simple free from all encumbrances.
5. The consideration to be paid by the First Party to the Secon
arties for said land shall be Fifteen Thousand ($15,000 .00) Dollars
ub,ject to the further provisions of this agreement.

6. The Second Parties shall pay all taxes for the y ear 1959 and
prior years and the Second Parties shall pay one -fourth of the taxes
on said property for the year 1960.
7. Second Parties shall deliver unencumbered possession of the
Premises and a warranty deed to the premises on April 1, 1960, or asl
oon thereafter as requested by the First Party.
B. First Party shall deliver its check in the amount of Fifteen
ousand ($15,000.00) Dollars to Second Parties on April 1, 1960 ;
rovided, in the event the First Party fails to deliver a check for t he
urchase price to the Second Parties on April 1, 1960, then the Firs
arty will pay to the Second Party the sum of One Hundred Twenty-Fiv
$125.00) Dollars per month for each month which passes between April
, 1960 and the date of payment of the purchase price to the Second
arties.
9. Second Parties shall contribute and pay the sum of Fifty
1$50.00) Dollars for the demolition and razing of all structures
which are entirely or partially located on the above described
remises to the contractor engaged to demolish or raze said structur s.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties to these presents have hereunto
iet their hands the day and year first above written.
