ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERED 6610, 66972 67102 6827
,aiD 6887 PERTAINING TO THE SALARIES AND COMPENSATION OF ALL -ELECTIVE
OFFICIALS, APPOINTIVE OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF
EFFERSON, MISSOURI, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE
AME SUBJECT.
E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOUR ,
S FOLLOWS:
ECTION 1. Ordinances numbered 6610, 6697, 6710, 6827 and 6887 of t e
City of Jefferson, Missouri, pertainingto the salaries and compensation
of all elective officials, appointive officials and employees of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, be and the same are hereby repealed.
ECTION 2. Compensation- of elective officials. Hereafter the
ollowing elective officials of the City ,of Jefferson, City, Missour ,
hall receive the following compensation for the performance of them
duties, and as specifically mentioned herein, the following amounts 's
r expense accounts to cover expenses incurred by them in the performan e
Of their official duties:
(a) The Mayor shall receive the sum of Two Hundred ($200.00)
ollars per month as his salary. In addition to the salary stated,
he Mayor shall receive the sum of Seventy Five ($75.00) Dollars per
month as an expense account for his office.
(b) The City Marshall shall receive the sum of Four Hundred

(c) The City Attorney shall receive the sum of Three Hundred

efray expenses for secretarial service connected with his office.
(d) The Police Judge shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and
ighty ($280.00) Dollars per month as his salary. In addition to th '
alary stated, the Police Judge shall receive the sum of Twenty
$20.00) Dollars per month as an expense account.
�) (e) The City Treasurer shall receive the sum of One Hundred
��, $100.00) per month as his salary. In addition to the salary stated
he City Treasurer shall receive the sum of Twenty Five ($25.00)
ollars per month as an expense account.
(f) The City Assessor shall receive the sum in fees equal to
t o-thirds (2/3) of those padi to the county assessor for merchants'
a -id manufacturers' lists returned and for making assessments and
turns of lists on personal property.
(g) The City Collector shall receive as compensation on the
nual tax collected the following:
On the first Forty Thousand ($40,000 .00) Dollars collected,
four (4%) per cent.
On the second Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars collected
three (3%) per cent.
On all sums collected over and above the sum of Eighty
Thousand ($80,000.00) Dollars, including delinquent taxes,
he shall receive two (2%) per cent. "
In addition to the above he shall receive on all delinquent
taxes the sum of four (4%) per cent, which shall be added
to the amount owed by the delinquent taxpayer and shall be
paid by the person paying the taxes.
(h) Members of the City Council shall receive the sum of

he salary stated, members of the City Council shall receive the sum

ECTION 3. Compensation of appointive officials and employees:
ereafter the total compensation to be paid to the appointive offici is
nd employees of the City of Jefferson City, Missouri, for the
performance of their duties as prescribed by law shall be paid as
follows:
(a) The City Clerk shall receive the sum of Four Hundred
400.00) Dollars per month.
(b) The Assistant City Clerk shall receive the sum of Three
undred and Twenty Five ($325.00) Dollars per month.
(c) The City Engineer shall receive the sum of Six Hundred
$600 .00) Dollars per month. In addition tb the salary stated,
he City Engineer shall receive the sum of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars
er month as an expense account.
(d) The Assistant City Engineer shall receive the sum of
our Hundred Fifty ($450.00) Dollars per month.
(e) The Street Commissioner shall receive the sum of Four
undred ($400.00) Dollars per month and the use of a city owned
automobile in the performance of his duties.
(f) The City Physician shall receive the sum of Two Hundred
nd Fifty $250.00) Dollars per month.
(g) The Chief Inspector of the City of Jefferson, and the ex
fficio Building Commissioner and Custodian of the City Hall, shall
eceive the sum of Three Hundred and Sixty Five ($365.00) Dollars
er month. In addition to the salary stated, the Chief Inspector sh ll
eceive the sum of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars per month as an expense
ccount.
(h) The Electrical Inspector shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred ($300 .00) Dollars per month. In addition to the salary
stated, the Chief Inspector shall receive the spun of Fifty ($50.00)

(i) The Plumbing Inspector shall receive the sum of Three Hundre
($300.00) Dollars per month. In addition to the salary stated, the
Plumbing; Inspector shall receive the sum of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars
per month as an expense account,
(j) The License Inspector shall receive the sum of Sixty Five
($65.00) Dollars per month. In addition to the salary stated, the
License Inspector shall receive the stun of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars p r
month as an expense account.
(k) The Milk Inspector shall receive the sum of Three Hundred an
Fifty ($350.00) Dollars per month.
(1) The Health Officer shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and
Seventy Five ($275.00) Dollars per month.
(m) The Airport Maintenance Man shall receive the sum of One
Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per months.
(n) The Janitor of the City Hall shall receive the stun of Two Hu dyed
and Forty Five ($245.00) Dollars per month.
(o) The Humane Officer shall receive the sum of Three Hundred
($300.00) Dollars per month and the use of a city owned motor vehic e
in the performance of his duties.
(p) The City Weighmaster shall receive the sum of One Hundred an
Sixty ($160.00) Dollars per month.
(q) The General Custodian of the City Cemetery shall receive the
sum of Twenty Five ($25.00) Dollars per month.
(r) The Welfare Worker shall receive the sum of Fifty ($50.00)
Dollars per month.
(s) The Clerk of the Police Court shall receive the sum of
One Hundred and Ninety Five ($195 .00) Dollars per month.
(t) The Fire Chief shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and
Eighty Five ($385.00) Dollars per month.
(u) The Assistant Fire Chiefs shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred and Fifty ($350.00) Dollars per month.
(v) The Fire Inspector shall receive the sum of Twenty Five
($25.00) Dollars per month.
(w) The Fire Captains shall receive the sum of Three Hundred. and
Thirty Five ($335.00) Dollars per month.
(x) The regular firemen shall receive the sum of Three Hundred a d
Fifteen ($315.00) Dollars- per month after they have been employed
for a period of three months, and for the first three months' servi e
they shall receive the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars per
month.
(y) The Police Captains in the Police Department shall receive
the sum of Three Hundred and Fifty ($350.00) Dollars per month.
(z) The Police Sergeants, including the desk sergeant and the
traffic sergeant, shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and Thirty
Five ($335.00) Dollars per month.
(aa) The Police Corporals shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and
Twenty Five ($325.00) Dollars per month.
(bb) The regular patrolmen and traffic officers in the Police
