(ORDINANCE NO. 6929
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING A PART OF CAMBRIDGE STREET IN WEST HILLS SUBDIVISION
AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
AND THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI TO EXECUTE
ALL NECESSARY INSTRUMENTS TO THE OWNERS OF THE ADJACENT LOTS TO AND
FOR THAT PORTION OF CAMBRIDGE STREET SO VACATED, AS THE PARTIES
ENTITLED, THERETO, AS SHOWN BY THE RECORD TITLE TO THE ADJACENT AND
ABUTTING PROPERTY AND DECLARING A REVERTER TO THE RESPECTIVE OWNERS
OF SAID REAL ESTATE.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the City Council of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, that the' owner of that portion of Cambridge
Street in West Hills Subdivision, hereafter described in Section 1
of this ordinance, has used, improved and occupied and is now
using and occupying said abutting land in such manner that the
portion of Cambridge Street, hereafter described in Section 1 of
this ordinance, has ceased to be of any use or benefit as a public
thoroughfare, and that it would inconvenience the public or the
citizens of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, to discontinue and
vacate the hereinafter described portion of Cambridge Street as
a public thoroughfare, now therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISS( I,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is hereby declared that the City Council of the City
of Jefferson, Missouri deems it necessary and expedient to vacate
and discontinue that part of Cambridge Street, more particularly
described as:
"All that portion of Cambridge Street lying west of
the west line of Lot 4 of Block 4 and of the west
line of Lot 8 of Block 6 of West Hills Subdivision,
as said subdivision appears per plat of record in
Plat' Book 5 at Page 53, Cole County Recorder' s Office,
and the east right of way line of Binder Drive as .
said east right of way line of Binder Drive appears
in said Plat of West Hills Subdivision."
SECTION 2. All of the owners of the property and adjacent lots
abutting on said Cambridge Street as described above having petitior d
the City Council to vacate and discontinue the above described
portion of Cambridge Street as a public thoroughfare in said city,
the above described portion of Cambridge Street is forever vacated
and discontinued as a public thoroughfare, and the right of
reversion in that portion of Cambridge Street so vacated in the
adjacent and abutting property owners as is provided by the laws of
the State of Missouri is hereby fully confirmed and approved.
SECTION 3. The Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Jefferson,
imissouri, arehexeby authorized and directed for, on behalf of, and
in the name of the City, to execute and deliver all proper and
ti, sufficient writings to fully and completely establish and guarantee ,l
