RDINANCE NO. 6941
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF CITY TAXES AND ESTABLISHING
HE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI FOR THE
EAR, 1960.
E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOUR ,
S FOLLOWS:
ECTION 1. There is hereby levied and assessed the following rate
on all real estate and personal property within the limits of the
City of Jefferson, M-ssouri, not exempt from taxation by the
onstitution or the laws of the State of Missouri, as shown by the
assessment book of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the year 1 86
and on all Merchants and Manufacturers statements, made as provided y
law.
FIRST - For the purpose of paying all current expenses of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the fiscal year, the sum of 85 cent
on the one hundred dollar valuation.
SECOND - For the purpose of paying interest on the outstanding
onds of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and for the purpose of
reating a sinking fund to retire the outstanding bonds of the City
f Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of 45 cents on the one hundred dolla
Valuation,
THIRD - For the purpose of establishing and maintaining a Free
Public Library in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of 10 cen s
Ion the one hundred dollar valuation.
FOURTH - For the purpose of establishing and maintaining Free
Ublic Parks in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of 20 cents
on the one hundred dollar valuation.
FIFTH - For the purpose of creating a Firemen' s Retirement
System for firemen in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of
.05 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
ECTION 2. It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to cause to be
extended in the appropriate columns opposite each item of taxable
roperty on the assessment books as returened by the Assessor of the ! City
of ,Jefferson, Missouri, and corrected by the County Board of Equaliz tion,
be amount of taxes to be paid by each person as provided by Section '
I of this Ordinance.
