AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SUBSECTION FIFTY-FIVE (55) OF SECTION SIXTY-
FIVE (65) OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, L956.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOUII2
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Subsection fifty-five (55) of Section sixty-five (65)
of the revised ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956,
prohibiting the parking of motor vehicles on the west side of
Jahnson Street between two points located 266 feet and 316 feet
North of the north edge of Hough Street be, and the same is hereby,
(repealed.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from
and after its passage and approval.

ORDINANCE NO. 6956
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 86 AND SECTION 87 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, 1956, RELATING TO
THE CROSSING OF PUBLIC STREETS, HIGHWAYS OR PUBLIC PLACES OF THIS
CITY BY PERSONS WHO ARE PARTIALLY OR TOTALLY BLIND, AND ENACTING A
NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOUflI,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Sections 86 and 87 of the Revised Ordinances of the City
of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, relating to the crossing public stree s
ighways, or other public places by persons who are partially or
totally blind be, and the same are hereby, repealed.
ECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, unless totally or
artially blind, while on any public street or highway, to carry in
raised or extended position a cane or walking stick which is white
n color or white tipped with red.
ECTION 3. Whenever a pedestrian is crossing or attempting to cross
he regular line of traffic in a public street or highway, guided by
guide dog or carrying in a raised or extended position. a cane or
alking stick which is white in color or white tipped with red, the
river of every vehicle approaching that part of the irâ–ºtersection
uch pedestrian is attempting to enter or cross, shall bring his
ehicle to a full stop before arriving at such place of crossing,
nd before proceeding shall take such precautions as may be necessar
o avoid injuring such pedestrian.
31ECTION 4. Nothing contained in this act shall be construed to
eprive any totally or partially blind person, not carrying such a
ane or walking stick or not being guided by a dog, of the rights
nd privileges conferred by law upon pedestrians crossing streets, or
ighways.
ECTION 5 . Anyone violating any of the terms of this ordinance shal
e deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
ECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from
and after its passage and approval.
