HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-14-21 AgendaThe Agenda Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret, preceding the Regular Meeting October 30, 2021, was held October 14, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m. remotely, via telephone call -in. The following were noted present: Councilmember Vincent Bellino " Jorge Diaz " Dennis DiMaseio Ajmar Johal " Randy Krum Also noted present were Carmela Pogorzelski, Municipal Clerk and Robert J. Bergen, Esq., Law Director. Noted absent was Councilmember Susan Naples. The meeting was opened with a moment of silent prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilmember Krum. The 2021 Annual Notice was mailed to The Home News Tribune, The Star Ledger and posted on the bulletin board and the doors of the Memorial Municipal Building on January 6, 2021. Notice was published in The Home News Tribune and The Star Ledger on January 11, 2021. All items being voted on tonight were posted on the Borough's website, www.carteret.net prior to tonight's meeting. Upon MMS &C, by Councilmembers Diaz and Bellino and unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Cotmcilmembers present, the minutes of September 30, 2021 was approved as transcribed and engrossed by the Clerk. OCTOBER 14, 2021 AGENDA MEETING ROLL CALL NOTED ABSENT PRAYER, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE STATEMENT OF MEETING NOTICE APPROVAL OF MINUTE OCTOBER 14, 2021 (continued) ORDINANCE #21 -20 was introduced and adopted on First Reading ORDINANCE #21 -20 and the Clerk authorized and directed to advertise same for Public ACQUISITION OF BLK. Hearing, upon MMS &C, by Councilmembers Bellino and Diaz. Upon 6703, LTS. 8 & 9 individual roll call vote, Councilmembers Bellino, Diaz, DiMascio, Johal and Krum voted in the affirmative. Councilmember Naples was noted absent. ORDINANCE #21 -20 "AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET" ORDINANCE #21 -17 The Municipal Clerk stated that Ordinance 921 -17 was introduced and TRAFFIC CONTROL adopted on First Reading on September 30, 2021. It was duly SIGNAL @ published in the Home News Tribune on October 5, 2021, with notice ROOSEVELT, MINUS that it will be considered for final passage after Public Hearing to be AND POST BLVD. held on October 14, 2021 at approximately 6:00 p.m. The Ordinance was posted on the bulletin board and copies were made available to the general public and according to law, she read the Ordinance by title. PUBLIC HEARING Upon MMS &C, by Councilmember Diaz and Krum and unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers present, Mayor Reiman declared the Public Hearing to be open. HEARING CLOSED There being no comments or objections to the Ordinance, Mayor Reiman declared the Public Hearing to be closed, upon MMS &C, by Councilmembers Krum and Bellino and unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers present. 2 Upon MMS &C, by Councilmembers Diaz and Bellino ORDINANCE #21 -17 "ORDINANCE ACKNOWLEDGING THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET'S ACCEPTANCE OF THE TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF COUNTY ROUTE 602 (alk/a ROOSEVELT AVENUE), MINUE STREET, AND POST BOULEVARD AND AMENDING SECTION 5254 -35 ENTITLED SCHEULE XVII: TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET" was finally adopted. Upon individual roll call vote, Councilmembers Bellino, Diaz, DiMascio, Johal amd Krum voted in the affirmative. Councilmember Naples was noted absent. Upon individual roll call vote, Councilmembers Bellino, Diaz, DiMascio, Johal anal Drum voted in the affirmative. Councilmember Naples was noted absent.
