Eries Report:
• Complete bridge repair on 4 Cedar.
• All green covers are in place.
• Three full time workers, after Nov 18th only Calvin and Eric will be working.
Planning to bring on 3 part-time seasonal's for winter to help with snow
removal.
• Hauled off all woody debris to the transfer site as well as garbage from the
bone yard.
s
• Metal trim applied to the shop exterior.
• Downstairs women's toilet is fixed, waiting for electrician to install/replace
lights.
• Trying to get prices on metal bridges. Most companies back east. Will also
get a bid from Matt Falvey to build and install bridges.
• Architect is working on construction designs and engineering so we can go
to bid on the permanent bathrooms on Birch 5 and 7. He plans to be done
by the first of the year.
L
• Advertised locally for a new assistant superintendent, no qualified
applicants. Have listed nationally, it will be open until filled.
• Will be moving countertops into the shop and will work on those
throughout the winter.
• Next week plan to clear out the new planned paver project near Birch 1 &
3. The Project will be completed next spring.
• Considering installing RV hookup near the shop for seasonal employees. 4
Hoping for approximately 3 hookups from May 1 to October 31st.
• Birch 1 steps - hoping to replace with pavers.
Allan's Report:
• October revenue down a bit, probably due to weather, down about $9000
from 2020. The course closed on October 23rd.
• Rounds were up by approximately $8,000 over 2020.
Monthly Topic: Review tournament schedule. Concern expressed about playing Cedar Birch
courses instead of Aspen Birch. Reserving Aspen for general public play on tournament days is
easier to generate revenue. Motion declared by Eric Bouchard and seconded by Suzanne, all in
favor and so moved to accept the proposed tournament schedule.
Old Business: Review the following golf season's fee schedule for golf activities. Eric reports
that expenses are increasing approximately 5%. Equipment leases will be increasing as well.
Discussion about increasing the guest fees by 5%, weekly fees will still be under $50 and
weekend fees would still be under $60. Final discussion and decision to resume at the next
meeting after consulting absent members.
New Business: City Capital Improvement Plan funding for golf course. $22,222 generated from
greens fees and season pass sales deposited in an LPIG account; total masterplan fund is
$25,264. Extra funds generated from last two years have been going to a golf course fund; thus,
the golf course is funding our own projects.
$15,000 from LOT for cart paths.
$182,000 set aside for leveling and working on tee boxes. Optimistically this could happen in
October 2022 which is FY2023.
Audit is planned to be completed by the end of this year or first of next year.
Men's club is pursuing a new score board. Getting a design from a graduate student out of UI. e
Funding to be provided by the Men's club and placed near the tree line east of the club house.
Pointed out this area is too congested but wanted to support the college student with his
project. Allan and Eric M. need to be looped in on projects involving the golf course.
Next Meeting: December 8, 5:00 PM
Topic: Review Golf Professional's contract provisions. The advisory committee needs to begin
considering Pros and Cons regarding Golf Professional versus management company or some
hybrid thereof. Need a plan going forward as of November 1st, 2022 (FY2023).
i
Eric McCormick will email a copy of our bylaws for all advisory members to review.
Adjournment: Rita adjourned the meeting at 6:27PM.
