AN ORDINANCE providing for the re- airing, surfacing and resurfacing,
by the City of Jefferson, Missouri, of ix Koad from the north line. of
Industrial Road, north to the end of the curb on ''ix 'load, all of
said improvements to be within limits of sprimkling oiling, surfacing
and resurfacing of Listrict Number..,Six (6) , o£ .the pity of Jefferson,
Missouri, and for the issuance of pecial Tax Bills not exceeding
sixty cents (60) per front foot, against the adjoining property fronting
or borderingon said street to pay for said improvements.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, TISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby finds a d declares that
it is necessary to repair, surface and resurface, at a cost not ex-
ceeding sixty cents (60) per front foot, of Dix hoad from the north
line of Industrial Road, north to the of the curb on Lix Road, all of
said improvements to be within the limits of sprinkling, oiling, sur-
facing and resurfacing district Number Six (6) of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, all of said work to be ddone according to the plans and
specifications filed with the City Clerk.
SECTION 2. The City Cluncil hereby Binds and declares that it is
advisable and for the best interest of owners of property to be charged
with the cost of said work, that the said work shall be done by the
City, without letting a contract therefor, and that the City Street
Uommissi®ner is hereby directed to purchase the necessary materials and
employ the necessary labor for the performance of said work, and shall
superintend the same find keep accurate account of the cost thereof, and
do said work under the supervision of the City Engineer.
SECTION 3. That the cost of such repairing, surfacing and
resurfacing shall be defrayed by a special tax, to be assessed in
favor of the City, on the adjoining property fronting or bordering on
the btreets where such work is done, in proportion toat the linear
number of feet of each lot .fronting or bordering thereon bears to
the total number of linear feet of all the property chargeable with
the tax aforesaid, in the territory embraced within this ordinance.
Special Tax Bills shall be issued, evidencing such assessment, and
shall become liens on said property, and shall be issued and enforced as
provided byy& law.
SECTION 4. The cost of such repairin , surfacing and resurfacing
shall not exceed the sum of sixty cents (60/5 per front foot, per annum
upon property abutting upon the streets aforesaid.
SECTION 5. All ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict
with V.is Ordinance, are insofar as they conflict herewith, are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 6. phis Ordinance shall take effect findm and after its p
passage and approval.
