AN ORDINANCE PROVIDInG FOR THE LEVY OF CITY TAXES A1vD ESTABLISHING
THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CITY OF M FFERSOV, MISSOURI, FOR THE
YEAR, 1948.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied and assessed the
following rate on all real estate and personal property within the
limits of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, not exempt from taxa-
tion by the constitution of the laws of the State of Missouri, as
shown by the assessment book of the City of Jefferson, M{ ssouri,
for the year 1948, and on all Merchants and Manufacturers state-
ments, made as provided by law.
First,- Vor the purpose of paying all current expenses of
the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the .fiscal year, the sum of
Sixty .Xtx:kT cents on the one hundred dollar Valuation.
Second,- '' or th@ purpose of paying interest on the out-
standing bonds of the ity of Jefferson, M ssouri, and for the
purpose of creating a pinking fund to retire the outstanding bonds
of the pity of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of Twenty give
cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
Third,- For the purpose of establishing and maintaining a
free public Library in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum
of Ten cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
Fourth,- For the purpose of establishing and maintaining
free public parks in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sumo f
Twenty cents on the one hundred do llar valuation.
` ifth,- For the purpose of creating a Firemen's Retirement
Spstem for firemen in the City of Jefferson, Missouri , the sum of
Ten cents on the one hundred valuation.
SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to cause
to be extended in the appropriatintle column's opposite each item of
taxable property on the assessment book, as returned by the
Assesso of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , and corrected by the
County oard of Equalization,the amount of taxes required Ito be
paid by each person as provided by Section 1 of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. This ordinan ce shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
