RESOLUTION AWARDING BID FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LIBRARY AND
COMMUNITY CENTER
WHEREAS, the Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret (the"Borough") is
committed to improving the quality of life for the people of the community; and
WHEREAS, there exists a unique opportunity to construct a state of the art library
and community center which will reshape the area surrounding the Borough Hall and
create a town center for the people of Carteret to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has received several bids to perform the construction of
this worthy project; and
WHEREAS, in addition to a base bid the Borough has requested and received several
alternates, and
WHEREAS, Serenity Contracting Group Inc. ("Serenity") has submitted the lowest
base bid and the lowest bid when taking into account the various alternates the
Borough wishes to include; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has reviewed the type and scope of work performed by
Serenity on previous projects and has determined it to be satisfactory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, By the
Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret that Serenity Construction Inc. be
awarded the bid to perform the construction of the library and community center in
the amount of $ 2,844,600.00 which included the base bid and following alternates:
BASE BID $3,089,00000
Alternate A. 1 ($147,000.00)
Alternate A.2 ($124,500.00)
Alternate A.4 $7,600.00
Alternate A.6 $7,900.00
Alternate A7 $3,400.00
Alternate A. 11 $8,000.00
Total Cost: $2,84'4,400.00

NO.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that award of this bid shall be advertised in
accordance with law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute the contract between Serenity and the Borough for the
performance of the Construction Services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect immediately.
