ACCEPTING NJDOT FY2022 MUNICIPAL AID PROGRAM GRANT
FOR CARTE RET AVENUE BICYCL ACCESSIBILITY PROJECT
EAS, the Borough of Carteret has applied for and has been awarded a grant in an
of $400,000.00 from the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
1W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
Carteret that the above referenced grant is hereby accepted and the Mayor and/or
�ropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to execute grant documents as
horized representative thereunder, as the representative for the Borough of Carteret.
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to
Director of Engineering and Finance Department.

1 '1111 pleased to inform you that Carteret Borough has been selected to receive funding from the New Jersey
Department of Transportation's ( NJDOT) Fiscal Year 2022 Municipal Aid Program for the Carteret Avenue Bicycle
Accessibility Project in the amount of $400,000.00.
NJDOT's Municipal Aid Program is a very competitive program. This year the Department received 625 applications
requesting more than $363 million. There is $161.25 million available in funds for this program from the
Transportation Trust Fund (TTP) supported by the Slate gas tax.
As part of the Department's Commitment to Communities, NJDOT provides statewide assistance for local
governments for improvements to and preservation of the local transportation network. This network makes tip -]boat
90 percent of New Jersey's roadways. 'file successful completion of your project will help achieve this goal and
provide year constituents and everyone that uses local roads it transportation system that provides the mobility they
deserve.
