AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND DIRECTI14G THE SUBMISSION TO THIS,
QUALIFIED ELECTORS 01" THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, COLE COUNTY, MISSOURI,
AT THE rE1dRRAI1 ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, um.,
EMBEi, 2, 1948, OF FIFE SEPARATE PROPOSITIONS FOR THE, INCURRII4G OF
INDEBTEDNESS AND THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY. ,
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the ity of
Jefferson, Cole county, Missouri , it has become and is nec8ssary to
provide certain public improvements in and for said City as herein-
after set forth; and
WHEREAS, the aggregate cost of said public improvements exceeds
the current income and revenues of said City, and funds for said im-
provements are not now available in the city treasury; and
WHEREAS, THE SAID ('Ity is authorized under the "onstitution
and Laws of the State of Myasouri to incur indebtedness for the purpose
hereinafter set forth upon the assent of two-thirds of the qualified
electors of said City voting thereon at an election to be held for
that purpose , and provided that the amount of ouch indebtedness, when
added to all outstanding indebtedness of said ity, shall not exceed
any limit prescribed by the constitution and LHws of the State of
Missouri; and
WHEREAS , the value of taxable tnpgible property within said
City, as asvertained by the asseesment for state and county purposes
made as of January 1, 1948, and being the last completed assessment
prior to the date of the election hereinafter provided for, was as
follows:

,SECTION 1. That at the General election to be held in the
City of Jefferson,. Co;e county, Missouri, on uesday, the 2nd day of
N vem8er, 1948, there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of
said ity the following propositions, to-igit:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
Shall the ity of Jefferson, Cole County, Missouri ,
incur an indebtedness in the mount of Seventy-five ,
Thousand Dollars ($75,000) for the purpose of fur-
ther' establishing, constructing, owning, equipping
and improving an airport or landing field for the
use of airplanes and other air,craft , either within
or without the limits of said ity, and evidence
such indebtedness by the issuance of bonds of said
City in said amount for said purpose?
PROPOSITION NO. 2._
Shall the City of Jefferson., V ole county, Missouri,
incur an indebtedness in the amount of Twenty-five
Thousand Dollars ($25,000) for the purpose of pur-
chasing additional apparatus useful in the extin-
guishing of fires; and evidence such indebtedness
by the issuance of bonds of said City in said amount
for said purpose?
PROPOBITION No. 3._
Shall the City of Jefferson Cole County.M, ssouri ,

PROPOSITICN NO. 4.
Shall. the City of Jefferson, Cole k4 ounty, Missouri ,
incur anindebtedness in the amount of Twenty9five
Thousand Dollars ($251,000) for the purpose of im-
-provbng and repairing the public library building
of said City, andevidence such indebtedness by the
issuance of bonds of said City in said amount for
said purpose?

Shall the City of Jefferson, Co ;e " ounty, Missouri .,
incur an indebtedness in the amount of Fifty Thou-
sand Dollars ($50,000) for the purpose of improving
public streets in said City by constructibng or repairing
bridges thereog and evidence such indebtedness by the

issuance of bonds of said City in said amount for
said purpose?
SECTION 2. That said election on the aforesaid propositions s
shall be held in the several wards and in the precincts
-and at the polling places established for the holding of the
aforesaid General election and as set forth in the notice of bond
election as proscribed in Section 5 hereof.
SECTION 3. That the election on the aforesaid propositions
, shall be conducted by the several judges appointed to serve at the
said general election and by the clerks of said g6neriLln-election.
SECTION 4. That the said polling places shall be opened on
the day of said general election at the hour of 6 o 'clock A. M.
and shall remain open until the hour of 7 o 'clock P.M. on said
date. he said election shall be held and conducted andthe results
thereof' shall be c�--rtified, canvassed and declared in all respects in co
conformity with the constitution and Laws of theState of Missouri
governing elections in the said City of Jefferson, and in accordance
with the ordinances of said City.
SECTION That the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to give notice of the submission of the aforesaid
propositions at the afoesaid general election, by publication
"244.1.
In the Dally Capital News, snewspaper printed and published in the
City of Jefferson and of general circulation therein, The said
notice shall be published in said newspaper once a week for four
co secutive weeks and on the same day in each week. The first
publication of said notice shall be made at least twenty-four
days before the date of said election a8 the last publication, shall
be made within two weeks of the date of said election. The chid
notice, to be so published, shall be in substantially the follow-
ing forip, toy-*it.

The said general election at which the aforesaid propositions are
to be submitted to the qualified electors of said City will be

to vote on the aforesaid propositions.

SECTION 6. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized
snd directed to furnish the judges and clerks of said general elections
with all poll bppks, tally sheets, ballots, ballot boxes, and other
supplies necessary for the conduct of the election for the submission
of the aforesaid bond issue proprsitions shall be prepared separately
and apart from any other bnllot or ballots which may be rewuired by
law to be used in said general election, and shall be in substantially
