Section Z. The name of each property owner or owners and the
description of each lot or piece of ground fronting or abutting on
each side of Dix Road from the north edge_,of the slab on U. S.
Highway No. 50 to the intersection of Dix road and St. Mary ' s
Blulevardt and the number of front feet owned by each owner of owners
and contained in the lots or tracts of land so owned and abutting
siad block or street between the aforesaid streets and the cost
price per front foot for said improvement and the amount byreby
levied anf assessed as a special tax for said improvement against
each lot or piece of ground fronting or abutting said Dix Road, or
the roadway from the center of the intersection of Dix Road and
St. Mary's Boulevard to the north edge of the concrete slab on
U. S. Highway No. 50.
Section 4. That the City Clerk Is hereby instructed to anike
utt special tax bills in fr-vor of the contractor Schell construction
Company for the within mentioned work in accordance with the
ordinances of the U ity of Jefferson, Missouri , relative to said
kind of work and in accordance with the Chatter of said City in re-
gard to said work.
Section 5. phis ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and a f ter its passage and approval.

AN CRDIRANCE to repeal Section 842 of the City of Jefferson,
Mtssourl, as amended by Ordinance Number 4675 approved June 27,
1944, relating to the regulation of taxicabs and the rates of carriage
of persons and property by taxicabs and to enact a new section in
lieu thereof relating to the same subject to be known as Section
842.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, TIISSOURI ,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 642 of the ordinances of the %"ity of
Jefferson, Missouri , as revised by the ordinanxes approued June
270 1944, and being known as Ordinance Number 4675, and relating to the
regulation of taxicabs and the rates of carriage of persons and pro-
perty by taxicabs, be and the same Is hereby repealed and a new sec-
tion to be known as Section 942, relating to the same subject, is
hereby enacted inl lieu ghdreof and to read as followsb
Section 842. That for the purpose of this ordinance ., the "Uptown"
District" of the City of Jefferson is hereby defined as the area
bounded as follows: On the East by the east line of Lafayett,e Street,
on the south by the north line of Ashley Street , on the West by the
West line of Bolivar Street and on the north by the Missouri 'kiver,
k'or the purpose of establishing reasonable and proper rates for the
carriage of porsons and/or property by taxicabs to any and all parts

of the `pity of Jefferson, Missouri , tho maximum rate or charges shall
be as follows:
A. From the "Downtown Listrict" to any one point to the 1300 block in
the East, ("" including that part of the Uity of Jefferson north of
High Street, and which is known as Renn' s Addition, and up toPierce
Street in Renn ' s Addition) , south or West sections of the City the
rate shall be 35 cents for the first passenger; 15 cents for the
second passenger and 25 cents for each additional oassenger.
B. From the "Uptown District" to any one point within the City Limits
East, West or outh the fare or rate of carriage shall be 50 cents
for one or two passengers and 25 cents for each additional passenger.
C. From the City* Limits East, West or South across the pity to any
one point beyond the 1300 block East, West or aouth the fare or
rate of carriage whallbe 70 cents for the first passenger, 15 cents
for the second passenger, and 25 cents for each additional passenger.
D. From the ('ity Limits, East, West or south across town to any one
point beyond the 1300 block and to the �'ity limits the sate of
carriage shall be 85 cents for the first passenger; 15 cents for
the. second passenger and 25 cents for each additional passenger.
E. From any (pne point beyond the 1 300 Block West or youth to any one
pat.nt West of Jefferson Street and not within the "Uptown ''istrict"
the fare or rate of carriage shall be 50 cents for one or two
passengers and 25 cents for each additional passenger.
F. From any pne point beyond the 1300 block East or South to any one
point East of Jefferson Street and not within the "Uptown ,istrict

the fare or rate of carriage shall be 50 cents for one or wo
passengers and 25 cents for each additional passenger.
G. From any point not within the "Uptown ',istrict" qnd not beyond
the 1300 block East der South to any one point East of Jefferson
Street and not with�n the "Uptown bistrict" and not beyond the
1300 block East or outh the fare or rate of carriage shall be 35
cents for the first passenger; 15 cents for the second passenger
and 25 cents for each additional passenger.
H. From any point not Within the "Uptown District" and not beyond
the 1300 block West or outh to anz one point West of Jefferson
Street and not. within the "Uptown istrict" and not beyond the 1300
Block West or `'outh the fare or rate of carriage shall be 15 cents
for the first passenger; 15 cents for the second passenger and 25
cents for each additional passenger.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
