AV ORDINANCE providing for the repairing, surfacing and esurfacing
by the City of Jefferson, Missouri, of Ashley Street, from the west
property line of Mulberry Street to a point 60 feet west of the
west property line of Deeg Street, all of said improvement to be
within the limits of sprinkling, oiling repairing,, surfacing and
resurfacing of 'istrict Number Eight ght (81 of the "ity of Jefferon,
Missouri, and for the issuance of Special Tax Bills, not exceeding
Sixty Cents (60) per front foot, against the property fronting or
bordering on said street to pay for said improvement.
BE IT ORDAINED Bl� THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON.,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
S`'ction 1. 'hat the City Council hereby finds and declares that
it is necessary to 'repair, surface and resurface,, at a cost not ex-
ceeding sixty cents (60) per front foor, of Ashley Street, from the
west property line of M lberry Street to a point 60 feet west of the
west property line of Deeg Street, all of said improvement to be
within the limits �,-f sprinkling, oiling repairiLig, surfacing and
resurfacing of District Number Eight (81 of the ity of Jefferson,,
Missouri, all of said work to be done according tothe palns and
specifications filed with the City Clerk.
Section 2. 'he City -ouncil hereby finds and declares that it
is advisable and for" the best interest of the owners of property to
be charged with the cost of said work, that the said ork shall be
done by the ity, without letting a contract therefor, and that the
City Street Commissioner is hereby directed to purchase the necessary
materials and employ the necessary labor for the performance of said
work., and shall superintend the scone and keep accurate account of the
cost thereof, and do said work under the supbevision of the city
Engineer.
Section 3. hat the cost of such repairing, surfacing and re-
surfacing shall be defrayed by a special tax, to be assessed in favor
of the City, on the adjoining property fronting or bordering on the
streets where such work is done, in proportion that the linear number
of feet of each lot fronting or bordering thereon bears to the total
number linear feet of all the property chargeable with the tax afore-
