HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution No. 022-89 04-10-1989 I RESOLUTION NO. 22-89 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE FOR FUNDING OF A MULTI-AGENCY DRUG ABUSE EDUCATION PROGRAM CONSISTING OF HALTOM CITY, NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, WATAUGA, AND RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS. WHEREAS, in order for the City of Richland Hills Police Department to participate in acquiring funding for the multi-agency D.A.R.E. project it is necessary to present an application to the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office; and WHEREAS, the 1989-1990 grant application for this drug abuse resistance program is in the total amount of $136,929.00 commencing September 1, 1989 with City funding commencing October 1, 1989; and WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office will provide $133,989.00 for the first year; and WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills will be required to fund $735.00 for the first year. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS: That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Richland Hills, necessary documents to the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office for funding for the first year for the City of Richland Hills Police Department to establish "Project D.A.R.E."., a program to provide elementary and middle school~sdents the necessary skills to recognize and resist the,. maw pressures that influence the use of alcohol and drugs,, sm~-fl~•nding,being.proposed as follows: Crimin~~ ±7ustce,Divisign; $13~,989.QO City - ~f, R~.c~land H~.lls $ 735.00 The: ?p~he~ ' thr,~e n}ember ,cities of this cansort~.um;, w,.~.;l,l each prQ~,~e 736`x ~3; 205.00 $ 2 X205.00 • T.QTAL $136.,929.00 RESOLUTION No. 22-89 PAGE 2 OF 2 PRESENTED AND PASSED on this the 10th day of April , 1989 by a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Richland Hills.
