1,7HEREAS., THE I-,IISSOTJRI POWER 8. LIGHT CCMPANY (hereinafter designated
as "Utility") has agreed to furnish, maintain and operate, a lighting
system for the lighting of the public streets in the City of Jefferson,
a municipal corporation of the State of 10, Issouri (hereinafter designated
as III-.11unicipality" ) in accordance with the provisions hereinafter setforth#

Section 1. That Utility, in consideration of promises herein made
by Municipality, does hereby agree to furnish, operate and maintain a
street lighting system for the lighting of the streets, avenues arid other
public places in said 1-!unicipality. 'he location, number and sizes of
the larps to be installed and operated shall be as determined by Munici
Dality within limits at.'--d subject to conditions as herei,rafter set forth.
Section 2. That Yunicipality does hereby agree to pay to Util:ity
for such lighting service the amount due for lamps installed and
operated from time to time under the following schedule of prices, and
Utility shall supply and operate, until otherwise provided, the mumber
arid character of lamps, on time schedule as follows:

Section 3. That "tility shall render a bill each moth for the
monthly charge (which shall be one-twelfth the annual charge, when so
stated) for character of service furnished on a 11 lamps installed,
acid said Yunicipa"lity agrees to approve said bills for payment at the
first reetinf of the City Council after the rendering; of such bill, It
is further understood and a greed thet all Dills not )aid within thirty
(30) da?.*s after date of same shall bear inter. st at the rate of six
percent (61) per anum.
Section 4. That I`unicipality agrees to have installed and to
authorize to be operated during the term hereof a sufficient number of
lamps to make under the above sched> ;.e of rates a ni,'nimum monthly hill
of Fifteen Hi ndred Dollars (-Jr150C. 00)
Section 5. That I.unicipaluty may by resolution duly adopted,
order more lames installed at any time, of sixe and character as above
provided for or as may be mutually -.`,reed upon, arid. Utility will furnish
and install such lamps at locations designated by D!unicipality. 'then
so ordered and installed, said ; amps shall thereafter be paid for at
the rate above provided, acid will become su-);ect to this Contract
Ordinance., If, however, any such affi_tional lamp or lamps shall be
required to be installed at a K:r•eater distance t.,-,an four !:undred (400)
feet from a then existing, circuit, the Municipality shall, reimburse
Utility for the additional cost of the in tallatior. thereof over and
above the cost of installing a similar tarp or la►nps at di.staccce of
four hundred (400) feet from an# existing lamp.
Section 6. That the said lamps herein contracted for shall be
located at such places within the municipal:kk limits as the said Munici-
pality shall direct, and said lamps sha L1 be hun€; on brackets approximately
eighteen (18) feet from the ground. hould the I+ nicipality during the
term -)f tl-:is Contract Ordinance require the location or manner of
hanging of accy lamp or lamps to be changed, the cost of such change
shall be borne by the I`.uniciPality.
"section 7. That if' Utility shall fa! 1 to operate such lights as
herein provided, ac a-ount proportional. to the period of outage for the
number of lamps not buring; shall be deducted from the monthly re,,tal,

fail to turn o,' the lights after written notification, or shall f'ai. 1 to

Section R. Thnt utility will immedinteiy make effective the
rates herei.nabove stated by filing same with the P+';issouri 'ublic Service
Cormiission as required by law. Said rates shall be sub 'ect to change
by order of said Commissicn .
Section 9. TI-int Utility will. endeavor to maintain contir~uous
lighting service, according to schedi le, bixt c.,oes -ot ;,unrantee that
the supply of electrical energy will , at all times, be continuous;
