SECTION' 1. Whoreas, it was heretofore found and declared by
the City Council, by its resolution, passed aiid approved on Ja,.. uary 9th
1950, necessary to pave with Portland cement concrete the roadway of
Cedar Street, from the east curb line of Jefferson Street and inter-
section of Cedar Street; thence easterly along Cedar Street 3t`36 feet.,
and -t a-1:)pearing to the City "'ouncil that said resolution has 'peen
duly published according to tIc-le law for more than :aeven (7 ) consecu-
tive insertions, in the Post-Tribune , a daily news Japer, ?rinted
and publushed in the Uity of Jefferson, 14issouii' and' a kajority of the
resident pwners of property along said section of Cedar Street liable
for the costs of said improvement, and who ovn a majority of the
front feet on said Cedar Street inteiided to be improved, have not
filed with the Cit-,%.r 'lerk a orotest against said contemplated imrobvement.
SECTM4 2. That the said road of Cedar Street, shall be ,paved
in accordvnce with the plans and specifications submitted by the City
Engineer and filed in the office of the ity "'flerk, aiid that the
total cost of the viork shall be &ar,-ed and lei ed as a special
assessment against the real estate abutting a.,-!d fronting on said
contemplated improvement, and s .)ecial t,,3x bills shall be issued., as
.provided in the Cith barter, acid in Sections 764,765,766 and 767 of
Chapter 13, of the Re�iised Ord�,.nances of the �'ity of Jefferson,
brissouri , 1941 and of the Revised ctstutes of the State of M, issouri,
1939, and amendments thereto
SECTT(,'!,,' 3. the City Engineer is hereby instructed to advertise
for bids for this improvement.

public highways therein amounts to 323,201. 00 square feet.
4,.nd it further appearing from the said report that on proper apport-
ionment of said costs such lots or oieces of ground in said sewer
Listrict No. 72 so situated, each square foot of ,round contained
in said lots or- pieces of ground in said Sewer -istrict No. 72
is chargeable with the stun of 4Y0. 0232 per square foot.

together with all necessary laterals, inlets, catch basins, manholes,
and other necessary appurte-iances thereto appertaining, t1here is hereby
levied and assessed against the several and hereinafter described lots
or pieces of ground within the bounds of said Sewer District Ile . 72
situated in the anme of the respective name of the owner or owners of
said lots or pieces of ground, a special tax at the rate of lq�0.0232
per square foor for each and every square foot of ground so situated as
aforesaid.
SECTION ". Each of the lots or pieces of ground so i!1entioned
and referred to in Section 1 of this Wrdinance, against which a
special ',-.ax bill is s )ecified in Section 1 of this Ordinance is
levied and assessed and the same is hereby levied and assessed and the
