• RESOLUTION NO. 7-90
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE INCLUSION OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILLS IN THE PLANNING PROCESS FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF THE DFW/RAILTRAN SYSTEM AND
ENCOURAGING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUTER
STATION IN THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS OR ITS
EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION.
WHEREAS, the D/FW Railtran system administers a commuter rail
line adjacent to the city limits of Richland Hills and the City's
extraterritorial jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, commuter rail service is being planned along this route
to serve the transportation needs of the citizens of the North
Texas region; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills is in the geographical center
of a population of 200,000 with ready access to major roadways;
and
• WHEREAS, it would be in the interest of sound regional
transportation planning that the needs of the citizens of
Richland Hills and adjacent municipalities be considered during
the planning process to implement the Dallas/Ft. Worth Railtran
system;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS,
TEXAS
I.
That the City Council of the City of Richland Hills, Texas hereby
endorses and requests that the City of Richland Hills be included
in the planning process for the development of the Dallas/Ft.
Worth Railtran System.
II.
Further the City Council of the City of Richland Hills encourages
the establishment of a commuter station on Handley Ederville Road
in the vicinity of the rail spur or in its extraterritorial
jurisdiction along the route of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Railtran
System.

• The City Secretary shall cause a copy of this resolution to be
sent to the Policy Committee for the Dallas/Ft. Worth Railtran
System.
PRESENTED AND PASSED on this the 23rd day of JULY , 1990 by a
vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Richland Hills.
