WiII:REAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of
Jefferson. Cole County, I;.issouri , it has become and is n-ecessary
to purchase additional apparatus useful. in the extinguishing of fires;
and
VJHE!-,EAS, the said Council estimated that the cost of such
additional apparatus will be Nineteen Thousand Dollars
and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid sum exceeds the current income and
revenues of said City, and funds t•ierefor are not now available
in the City treasur ,; and
L-lHEREsAS, the said City is authorized under the Constitution
and Laws of the State of 1issouri to incur indebtedness for the
aforesaid purpose upon the assent of two-thirds of the qualified
electors of said City voting thereon at anelection to be held for that
purpose , and provided that the amount of such indebtedness, when
added to all outstanding indebtedness of said City, shall not ex-
ceed any limit prescribed by the Constitution and Laws of the State
of Missouri; and
WHEREAS, the value of the taxable tangible property within
said City, as ascertained by the assessment for state and county
purposes made as of January 1, 1950, and being the last completed
assessment prior to the date of the election hereinafter provided
for., was as follows:

SECTI01; 1. That at the E°eneral city election to be held in the
City of i7of'ferson, Cole County, I. issouri, on Tuc;s ;ay, the 3rd day of
Anril, 1951, there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of said
City the following: proposition, to-wit:

useful in the extinguishing; of fires, and evidence such in-
debtedness by the i sitance of bonds of said Cite in baid amount
for said purpose?
SCETION; 2. That t1-e said election on the aforesaid prop-)sition
shall be held in the several wards and In the precincts arid at the
polling places established for the holding of the aforesaid general city
election and as set forth in the notice of bond election as prescribed in
Section 5 hereof.
SECTION] 3. That the elction on the aforesaid proposition shall
be conducted by the several judEes a?pointed to serve at thB said general
cit-r election. and by the clerks of said general city election.
SECTION 4. That the said polling places shall be opened on the
day of said general city election at the hour of 6 o ' clock A.M. and shall
remain open untd.l the hour of 7 o ' clock P.r1. on said date. The said
election shall be held and conducted and the results thereof shall be
certified, canvassed. and declared in all respects in conformity with the
Constitution and Laws of the State of Missouri governing election in said
City of Jefferson, and in accordance with the ordinates of said City.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to give notice of the submission of the aofresaid proposition
at the aforesaid �.eneral city election, by publication in the Jefferson
City Post Tribune , a newspaper printed and published in the City of
Jefferson and of general circulation therein. The said notice shall be
published in said newspaper once a week for four consecutive weeks and on
the same day in each week. The first publication of said notice shall be
made at least twenty-one days before the date of said election and the
last publication shall be made within two weeks of the date of said
election. The said notice , to be so published, shall be in substantially
the following form, to-wit:

SECTION 6. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to furnish the judges and clerks of said general city election Ida.
with all poll books, tally sheets, ballots, ballot boxes, and other
supplies necessary for the conduct of the election herein provided for,
and the ballots to be so provided for the submission of the aforesaid
bond issue proposition shall be prepared separately and apart from any obhe
ballot or ballots which may be required by law to be used in said general
