!� AN ORDIP:ANCE PROVIDITIG FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADVVAY OF Locust
Street in the block from the center of the intersection of Locust
Street and V,ller Street to the center of the intersection of Locus
Street and Elm Street in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by paving
with penetration bituminious macadam
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Whereas, it was heretofore found and declared
by the City Council, by its resolution, passed and approved on
May 5th� , 952 necessary to pave with penetration bituminious
macadamtthe roadway of Locust Street in the block from the center
df the intersection of Locust Street and Miller Street to the cente
of the intersection of Locust Street and Elm Street and it appearin
to the City Council that sadi resolution has been duly published
I according to the law for more than seven (7) consecutive insertions
in the Post-Tribune , a daily newspaper, printed and published
in the M7 of Jef erson, Missouri, and a majority of the residentx
owners of property along said section of Locust Street liable for 1he
costs of said improvement, and who own a majority of the front feet
on said Locust Street intended to be improved, have not filed with
the City Clerk a protest against said contemplated improvement.
1 SECTEON 2. That the said road of Locust Street from the
intersection of Locust Street and Miller Street to the intersection
of Locust Street and Elm Street, be improved, in accordance with
the plans and specifications submitted by the City Engineer and fil d
in the office of the Lity Clerk, and that the total cost of the
work aforesaid shall be chprged and levied a.s a special assessment
against the r eat estate abutting and fronting on said contemplated
improvement , and special tax 'bills shall be issued therefor, as
provided in the City Charter, and in Sectiond 764, 765,766 and 767
of hEa ter 13, of the Revised Ordinances of the `ity of Jefferson,
Missouri , 1941, and of the Revided Statutes of the State of TJ.., ssour
1949, and amendments thereto.
SECTION 3. The City Engineer is hereby instructed to adver-
tise for bids for this iomprovement.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
