VEhSBERS, AID 111'0 EvACT IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS
SECTION 11 , RELATING TO THE SANE SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDATIIED BY THE CITY COUIXIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance Number 5268 of the amity of Jefferson,
Missouri , creating a City Planning and Zoning-Commission, prescribi g
the number and qualifications of its members and defining their
duties, by repealing Section 11 of said Ordinance, relating -to
Members , and to enact in lieu t:-�ereof a new section to be mown as : cr-
Section 11, relating to the same subject, and to read as follows:
"SECTION 11: MEMBERS. The City Planning and Zoning Commissi n
shall consist of twelve 12 members, three (5) of whom shall be the
Mayor, the ity Engineer, and a member of the Council. Tha last men-
tioned to be selected by the Council from among its number. :he
other nine members shall be aitizensqualified by knowledge or ex-
perience to act on questions pertaining to the development of the
City planning, and residents of the City of Jefferson, Nissourig
The citizen members shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the
approval of the Council. Said Commissioners shat! hold office one-Jikki for one year, one-third for two years, and one- third for three
,years, from the first of May following their pa.aointment, and
annually thereafter, the 14ayor shall before the `' irst of May of eac
year appoi .-t as before three (5) commissioners, who shall hold offs e
for three years, and until their successors are appointed.
The Mayor may, by and with the consent of the legislative branch of
] the Municipal E,overnment, remove any commissioner for misconduct or
neglect of duty. Any and all appc1 ntrrents to fill vacancies shall lie
for the unexpired term only. All members to serve without pay.
SECTI011 2. This ordinance shall be in .force And!..-:take effect {
from and after its passage and approval.
