RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTE RI COUNTY OF
MIDDLESEX, STATE OF NEW JERSEY APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE
COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND
PREPAREDNESS PRE - DISASTER MITIGATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the County of Middlesex contracted with Rutgers Group to develop an
updated Pre - Disaster All Hazard Mitigation Plan (the "Plan") required by the Middlesex
County Department of Public Safety and Health, Office of Emergency Management and
Preparedness; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Pre - Disaster Mitigation Plan is to identify risks and
vulnerabilities within the community and develop a rational actionable strategy to reduce
potential future losses due to the effects of natural hazards on a place and its population,
such as flood and wind; and
WHEREAS, this Plan update included a re- evaluation of the original hazards, the risk
assessment, mitigation goals, strategies and mitigation priorities; and
WHEREAS, the County of Middlesex is in receipt of the updated Pre-Disaster All
Hazard Mitigation Plan prepared by Rutgers Group and the Middlesex County
Department of Public Safety and Health, Office of Emergency Management and
Preparedness has reviewed the Plan and finds the Plan to be acceptable; and
WHEREAS, the Pre- Disaster All Hazard Mitigation Plan was forwarded to each
municipality within the County of Middlesex for review, approval and acceptance; and
WHEREAS, die Borough of Carteret, Office of Emergency Management is in receipt of
the updated Pre- Disaster All Hazard Mitigation Plan prepared by Rutgers Group from the
County of Middlesex has reviewed the Plan and finds the Plan to be acceptable;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, that the Pre - Disaster All Hazard Mitigation Plan prepared by Rutgers Group
is hereby approved and accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to
the Middlesex County Department of Public Safety and Health, Office of Emergency
Management and Preparedness.

original on December 10, 2021.
