Subject: Request to Relocate a Bus Stop on Washington Avenue
Dear Ms. Pogorzelski:
For your review, I have enclosed a draft resolution identifying (1) bus stop to be
relocated on Washington Avenue, westbound, at Cook Avenue, far side to
High Street, far side. The request was generated by Matthew Zwingraf,
Project Manager for CME Associates to have the stop relocated in front of the
new apartment complex for their residents. I have conducted a field inspection
of the areas and found the proposed bus stop in accordance with NJDOT traffic
guidelines and acceptable in the preparation of a traffic ordinance.
Under state statute, the power to designate bus stops rests with the
municipalities, not NJ TRANSIT. NJ TRANSIT does post signs at all sanctioned
bus stops and works closely with the municipalities to provide safe and
convenient stops.
Please present the proposal to the Mayor and Borough Council for their review
and approval. Once your Mayor and Council have passed the resolution,
please send me a certified copy.
Once I am in receipt of the resolution, I will relocate our signage and notify
operators of the new bus stop.
If you have any questions, please call me at (973) 491 -8671.
Thank you for your support of public transportation.
Sincerely, ' =
