CALL TO ORDER Mayor Sternquist called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. in the City Hall Community Room located at 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City, 2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmember— Chavez, Vizcarra, Yu, Man, Sternquist ABSENT: Councilmember -None ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook, City Clerk Kuo, and Administrative Services Director Paragas 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA —None 4. NEW BUSINESS A. FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023 PROPOSED ANNUAL BUDGET The proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 focuses on creating a roadmap for maintaining the financial stability of the community into the future while balancing current needs. City Manager Cook gave a brief overview of the proposed Fiscal Year 2022-2023 city budget and made remarks about the future cost for labor, contract services, and general liability insurance for the city. Administrative Services Director Paragas gave a summary of the staff report including proposed Fiscal Year 2022-23 city budget, fees and fines schedule, and the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund/American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. City Council asked questions and made comments about the proposed fees, city budget, and the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund/American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Councilmember Vizcarra left the meeting at 7:23 p.m. and returned at 7:30 p.m. Councilmember Yu left the meeting at 8:30 p.m. and returned at 8:32 p.m. Mayor Sternquist opened public comment. Hearing no request to speak, Mayor Sternquist closed public comment. City Council Minutes May 27, 2022 Page 2 of 2 City Council made final comments. City Council directed staff to move forward with the proposed FY 2022-2023 City Budget and Schedule of Fees and Fines for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 as presented.
