RESOLUTION NO. 15 - 9 3
A RESOLUTION SETTING THE SALARY OF THE JUDGE OF
THE RICHLAND HILLS MUNICIPAL COURT OF RECORD.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Richland Hills, Texas, has
heretofore created the Richland Hills Municipal Court of Record; and
WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Richland Hills, Texas, at the May 1, 1993
special election on the proposition, determined that the Judge of the Richland Hills
Municipal Court of Record should be elected, rather than appointed by the City
Council, and
WHEREAS, Subchapter P of Chapter 30 of the Texas Government Code
requires that the salary of the Judge of the Richland Hills Municipal Court of
Record be set by the City Council at least two (2) weeks prior to the deadline for
candidates for said position to file an application for a place on the ballot; and
WHEREAS, the deadline for candidates for said position to file for a place on
the ballot is June 30, 1993, thereby making the deadline for setting said salary June
15, 1993; and
• WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Richland Hills, Texas, desires by
this Resolution to set the salary for the Judge of the Richland Hills Municipal Court
of Record, for the initial term of said office which begins September 1, 1993, and
ends on the date of election and qualification of any successor at the general
election for city officials to be held in May of 1996.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILL S, TEXAS:
I.
The salary of the Judge of the Richland Hills Municipal Court of Record, for
the term beginning September 1, 1993, is hereby set at $15,000.00 per year, to be
paid bi-weekly in equal installments, plus $50.00 per arraignment and standard City
health insurance benefits. The first such pay period shall begin September 1, 1993.
Said salary amount may not be diminished during said initial term of office.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Richland Hills,
Texas, by a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays and 0 abstentions this 8th day
of June , 1993.
