AS FOLLOWS:
. Section 1. That ordinance number 5180 of the City of Jeffer
son, Missouri, relating to the licensing, grading and operation of
restaurants, be, and the saim is hereby amended by adding thereto
a new section to be known as Section 1-A, creating the office of
Health Officer, the manner in which sa~ d office shall be filled,
the term of officem defining the qualifications, powers and duties
of the health officer and fixing his compensation.
Section 2. Where is hereby created the office of Health
Officer in Jefferson Ci.tlr.
The Healt1-. Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor, upon
the recommendation of the Hoard of Health, and with the ecnsent of the
City Council.
The "ealth Officer shall serve for a term of two (2) years
and shall be appointed at the forst regular meeting of the City
Council after the City Elections in the even numbered uears. Upon
the death or resignation of t he Health Officer, the Mayor shall _ eve
the power to make an Interim appointment of a Health Officer to
serve the balance of the two year term, said appointment being
subject to tl,e approval of the City Council.
The health Officer shall have qualifications which meet wi
the a:.)proval of the Board of ilealth.
The ftealth Officer shall have the duty to erhf. orce the pro-
visions of Ordinance No. 5180 in accordance with the standards se
out is said Ordinance.
The health Officer shall have all necessary nwoers to effi
ciently and adequately enforce the provisions of this ordinance a d xk;E
shall specigically file a complaint against ant viol tors thereof in
the Police ourt.
The Health Officer shall an annual salary od $ 3000.00
gaid salary shall }-e paid in twelve equal monthly installments.
Section 3. This ordinance shallbe in force and take effect
from and after its oassage and approval.

Section 1. That Ordinance Humber 5500 of the �Jity of 'Jeffe -
san, N-ssodri , which amended Ordinance number 4778 of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri , relating to the creation of an Inspection
Department in the City of Jefferson, Missouri , be and the same is
hereby expressly repealed.
Section 2. This ordinance sh^11 be in force and take effect
from and after i.ts oassnp.e and approval.
