deems it necessary to repair, surface end resurface at a cost not
exceeding sixty rents (66) per front foot of ')oplpr Street, fron
Atchison Street s-luth 640 feet., all (-.,,f said im )rovements to be
within tl�r, Iii-Its of surfacing and resurfacing, s,.)rin1cling, oiling
and repairing istrict '.,1Ti)mbcr Twelve (12) of the Oity of Jefferson,
F,- ssouri. All of said. work to '-,e do e according to the plans And
specifications filed with Clerk.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that it deems
it advisable and for the best interest of t -,e owners of pro-oerty to
be charn,ed with the cost of said work that the said work shall be
done by the City, without lettin a ocntrect- tl,orefor., and that the
City Street Commissioner is hereby directed to purchase the nec-
essary materials and employ t`o necessary labor for the perform-
an ce of said work, and shall su,'�erintend the same and keep an
accurate account of the cost thereof, and do the work under the
supervision of the City End i_neer.
SECTION 3. That the cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfaci ,-Ig
shall be defrayed by a special taxy to be assessed in favor of the
Cit,'r J on the adjoining property fronting or bordering on the above
street where such work is done in 'oroT)ortion that the linear
number of feet of each lot fronting or bordering t1nereo'n bears to
the total nuzqiber of linear feet of all the oroperty chargeable with
the tax aforesaid in the territory erbraced witl,in this ordinal-ice.
Special t ax 3ills shall be issued evidencing such a:�sessment, and sh ill
become lions on such property, and shr,.11 be issued and enforced as
provided by law.
SECTTON 4. The cost of such repairing, surfacl.ng and res-trfaclng
shall not exceed the sum of sixty cents (60) per front foot, per
annum, upon the property abutting upon the street aforesaid.
SECTION 5. All ordinances, or narts of ordinances, in conflict
with this ordinance are insofar and they conclict hbrewith., are
hereby repelaed.
^ECTTON 6. his ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
