BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISS
OURI, AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. That the City Council .of the City of Jefferson, Missoul!i,
hereby finds and declares that it deems ib necessary to repairg
surfacice and resurfac6 at a cost not exceeding sixty cents (601
per front foot of Water Street, from Riverside Drive to the cente
line of Polk Street, all of said improvement to be within the limits
of surfacing and resurfacing, sprinkling, oiling and repairing
District Number kour (4 ) of the City of Jefferson, All ll f
said work to be done according to the plans and specifications filed
with the ity Clerk.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that it deems
it advisable and for the best interest of the owners of property to
be charged with the cost of said work, that said work shall be done
by the City, without letting a contract therefore, and that the
City Street Commissioner is hereby directed to purchase the neces lad•
materials and employ the necessary labor for the performance of
said work and shall superintend the same and keep an accurate acc
ount of the soot thereof, and doz the work under the supervision
of the City Engineer. }
SECTION 3. That the cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfa
cing shall be defrayed by a special tax, to be assessed in favor
the Gity, on the adjoining property fronting or bordering on the
above street where such work is done, in proportion that the linesx
number of feet 'of each lot fronting or bordering thereon bears to
the total numbeb of linear feet of all the property chargeable wi ih
the tax aforesaid in the territory embraced within this ord.inanc
Special tax Bills shall be issued evidencing such assessment, and
shall become liens on such property, and shall be issued and en-
forced as provided by law.
SECTION 4. The cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfacing
shall not exceed the sum of sixty cents (60) per front foot, per
annum, upon the property abutting upon the street aforesaid.

SECTION 5. All Ordinances , or Darts of Ordinances, in conflict wi
this Ordinance are insofar as they conflict herwwith, are hereby ,
repealed.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval.
