HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD05852 41.5 SECTION 1. `bore is hereby levied and assessed the follow- ing rate on all real estate and personal property withing the limits of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , not exempt from taxation by the constitution of the laws of the State of Missouri , ad shown by the assessment book of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , for the year 1954, and on all Merchants and Manufacturers statements, made as provided by law. FIRST-F'or the purpose of paying all current expenses of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , for the fiscal ,year, the sum of 80 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation. SECOND-For the purpose of paying interest on the outstanding bonds of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , and for the purpose of vreating a sinking fund to retire the outstanding bonds of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , the sum of 25 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation. THIRD-For the purpose of establishing and maintaining a Free IPUblic Library in the City of Jefferson , Missouri , the sum of 10 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation. FOURTH-For the purpose of establishing and maintainingFree Public Parks in the ity of Jefferson, Missouri, the stun of 20 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation. FIFTH(-F'or the purpose of creating a Firemen's Retirement System for firemen in the ity of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of 15 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation. SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to cause to be extended in the appropriate columns opposite each item of taxable eroperty on the assessment book, as returned by the Assesso of the ity of Jefferson, Missouri , and corrected by the ounty Board of Equalization, the amount of taxes to be paid by each persor. as provided by Section 1 of this ordinance. Ells City Clerk #5852 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADWAY OF JACKSON STREET IN THE BLOCK FROM THE CEIITER-OF; THE INTERSECTION OF JACKSON STREET AND RUSSELL STREET TO THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION OF JACKSON STREET AND WOODLAWN AVENUE IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,MISSOURI BY PAVING WITH PENETRATION BITUM INIOUS MACADAM. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Whereas, it was heretofore found and declared by the Oity Council, by its resolution, passed and approved on . June 21, 1954 necessary to pave with PENETRATION BITUMINIOUS fflACADAM the roadway of Jackson Street in the block from the center of the intersection of Jackson Street and Russell °treet to the center of the intereseciion of Jackson Street and Woodlawn Avenue ad and itappearing to the Cit,r Council that said resolution has been duly published according to the law for more than seven (7) con- tsecutinve insertions, in the POST:;TRIBUNE, a daily newspaper, printe and published in the City of Jefferson, Missouri , and a majority of the resident owners of property along said sectio of Jackson Street liable for the costs of said improvement, and who own a rr,a�ority of the front feet on said Jackson Street intended to be improved, have not filed with the City Clerk a protest against said oontemplated �.mprovement.
